I bought a 2022 RAM 1500 4x4 with the 3.6L 6 Cyl. eTorque, tow packages and differential upgrade to the 3:55. Towing my 6500 lb travel trailer I was unpleasantly surprised to get only 9-11 mpg. More unpleasantly surprised to find the computer says I’m only getting 11 mpg empty. Can’t be right, right?

My TRX has 400 HP more than your Pentastar V6 with the same gear ratio and I get 11.8 MPG. You should have bought a TRX. 🤣

One thing I’ve learned over the years is if you are towing a camper with a gas engine you are going to get ~10 mpg. Don’t care it’s a truck, suv, v6, v8, turbo, na, 3000lb, 6000lb, always seems to ends up around 10. It’s more about the huge windsail than weight.

Pretty much agree, even the Ferd 2.7 TT gets about 10 towing, the old 460’s got like 8. I had a 78’ 390 with 4.10 gears that got 8 empty or loaded.

If you are towing with a Pentastar, thats normal.
Now your unladen mpgs are low but check how you reset the lie-o-meter or hand calculate.

I think everyone is correct, they will just get around 10mpg. I have the same 3.55's, 3.6 and 4x4. I regularly pull a 5000lb+ boat and gear. 10-11 is typical. I'm not pulling a giant sail like you are and can turn OFF tow/haul on the flat sections and she'll slide into 7th gear. If it makes you feel any better... My 4th Gen had the 3.21 highway gears and it got worse mpg on the interstate just driving, no trailer or load. The higher gears were just high enough to drop the RPM's out of the power band further and she rarely got into 8th gear.
