Looking hard at the current lifts available. Been waiting on someone to put out a legit 4”, but running out of patience for that, so 6” is very much so on the table. Thoughts on these kits?

-CST - I’ve owned before on a 2004 Silverado and absolutely loved it.
-ProComp - Reputable. Looks solid.
-BDS - Reading a lot of people complaining about the method of drop, or lack thereof. Sounds like there’s better options.
-RC - Have my doubts about the brand as a whole.

Any input before pulling the trigger?

4inch rough country on a 2019 ram. It’s actually a 6 inch rc but with 4inch spacer instead of 6.

I'm interested to know more about the BDS complaints on "method of drop." Not sure what that means. I had the BDS 6" installed on mine and love it so far (2,200 miles). I went with it vs ProComp and others because BDS offers replacement control arms (as an upgrade) and also because their kit allows for 18" rims vs ProComp or others that required 20's. I wanted to go with 35's on 18's v 20's to get a little more sidewall. BDS differentiated themselves in several very positive ways in my opinion.

Nice set up. Which Leer model is that cap?

Thank you. 100R with headliner and fold-down sliding front window which allows you to clean both the shell window and the outside of the rear pickup window. I've since added a Rhino Rack too.

I’ll have to see if I can search the thread that discusses it. It’s in reference to the method BDS used to drop the differential. I didn’t study any of these kits, so too technical for me to respond to in detail.

Ok that’s what I thought you meant. Without commenting on quality, all of 6” lifts use the same method for diff drop. BDS also includes a drive shaft extension which I’m not sure all lifts do that. Back to quality, BDS has a good rep there. I also included a picture of the new UCA’s to give perspective on ball joint angles.

Those UCA look really good, curious to see how mine turn out. In theory they should be similar...

Yea to my knowledge all these kits are basically the same, with the exception that the rear seems to be a different approach on all of them. BDS has the new coils vs oem + spacer which for most people should be a plus.

I went with a 6" RC and 35s. I had a 2008 F250 with a RC lift and it was a smooth ride. Also had a 2012 F150 with a 6" BDS and it was smooth as well with a larger price tag. I know plenty of guys who have owned RC lifts for years and 100K plus miles and never had an issue so thats what I chose for this truck. But I also found a great shop with an awesome reputation who stands behind everything they sell.

^^^. Where are you located as I’m sure several of us would love to be able to use that shop. :)

I would venture to say most shops use RC just as much as any other brand and have zero complaints. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.

I’ve installed 100+ RC kits in my day, a decade ago, and had no issues. I’ve heard their quality is actually much better now than it was then.
