Anyone know a way around the adaptive cruise control in the 2025 Tungsten? So darn annoying to have adaptive on and cannot turn it off! Had both types of cruise on my 23 Ram Laramie and always had adaptive turned off and used the standard cruise control with it.

I turn the distance way down, so it mostly acts like regular cruise control.

I have it all the way down, and it will run up on some slowly and slow down to under the speed I have set on until I pass. Sometimes I don't notice it, other times it puts the brakes on automatically to slow down hard if I never changed lanes fast enough with it turned all the down ):. So very annoying and the only thing I don't like about the Tungsten.

My Limited has 2 CC buttons on the right side of the steering wheel.

The right button is on/off for the ACC/Driver Assist.

I haven't tried it yet, but I thought the other button was on/off for regular cruise control. Is it not?

Is one ACC with no driver assist and the other is ACC with driver assist?

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, I *think* I might have seen something in the settings (on the Uconnect) that has something to do with that? (I've only had my '25 since last Thursday). Have you looked there to see if there's a way to change the one button from ACC to just CC?

I don't believe that newer vehicles have regular cruise control anymore? I believe adaptive cruise control is going to be the normal from now on. Likely deemed a safety issue.

On my 25 limited, the left button is adaptive cruise control. The right button is for the driver assist/hands free. I don't believe there is just a regular old school cruise control.

I did verify that on my Limited the other day. But, I did not go back through all the settings in Uconnect and see if there is some option to make the left button work as just regular CC.

Don't at least some of the lower trim levels still come with only regular CC? If so, then I can't see why they wouldn't allow a Limited or Tungsten to run CC in that mode.

Modern technology can't live with it can't live without it. lol

It's no issue, for me. I just like to know how it's supposed to work and what the capabilities are.

On my '21 Limited, I had one button for ACC and one button for regular CC. In the whole time I owned that truck, I used ACC ALL. THE. TIME. I think I might have turned on the regular CC one time in the 3 years I owned the truck.

If there is no traffic, CC and ACC work the same. If there IS traffic, it would be pretty rare for me to want to have my truck run right up on someone's bumper and me have to either swerve to change lanes to avoid plowing them or me have to get on the brakes myself. If traffic is sparse enough that I wouldn't have to run right up on them before I could change lanes, then I can change lanes before I get close enough for the ACC to start slowing down. Or I can just put my foot on the gas pedal for a few seconds to override the ACC and maintain my speed until I get changed into a new lane.

Not having regular CC is not an issue for me, at all. But, if it's an option via some setting I can change, I still want to know.

There is no standard cruise control on the upper trim 2025 anymore and cannot get it without changing entire ECM. That's the only thing I can say I don't like about the new Tungsten and others if they are the same? Its sucks when you try and pass one in cruise when it slows down with brakes on as you attempt to pass! The person behind you thinks your just nuts! lol. My 2019 Ram had both controls as SmartV says his does.

I finally remembered to test mine this past weekend. My '25 Limited does have the 2 buttons. But, the one I *thought* was regular CC is not. The right button is on/off for ACC with the ADAS. The left button is on/off for ACC with no ADAS.

So, I do not have regular CC at all and no way I can see in the Settings to change that.

I'm fine with that. Like I said before, I never used regular CC even when I did have it. I always used ACC. To me, it's no big deal to anticipate times that it's going to slow down when I don't want it to and give it some gas to maintain speed for a short time.

Trying to understand the issue with the ACC you guys are having, from reading Ramit392's post it sounds like with the ACC on that the truck slows down for a car in a neighboring lane? Like you switch lanes to pass and it senses the car in the right lane and slows down to match their speed? Mine does not do that. Mine only senses the car directly in front of me, not in neighboring lanes, so it goes back to whatever I have the cruise set to and passes no problem.

If that's the case, it seems like maybe mine is calibrated differently than yours.

That's not what I got.

What I got is that he doesn't like that it slows down before it runs over the person in front of him. I.e. it is working like it's supposed to. He just doesn't like the way ACC works. He doesn't want to have to pay attention and put his foot on the gas occasionally to maintain his speed while he changes lanes.

I'm not a fan either. Or when some idiot pops over in front of you and it wants to brake hard to get its distance again.

I don't like it when an idiot pops over in front of me. But, I actually pay attention to the traffic around me when I'm driving (usually lol!) so when that happens, I just put my foot on the gas to maintain my speed, or slow down more gently, as appropriate.

I don't understand so many people who seem to have the attitude of "if it won't drive 100% for me, exactly the way I would drive myself, then I don't want to use it at all."

I also don't like when I come up behind a slower car, have nowhere to go, and I have to just slow down. You have to actually pay attention and put your foot on the brake then and I don't.

It's six of one, half a dozen of the other. Except, with ACC if I don't pay attention I just end up going slower than I wanted. With regular CC if I don't pay attention, I run into the back of someone...

You picks your poison.

This: " Except, with ACC if I don't pay attention I just end up going slower than I wanted." I fall victim to this as well.

The ACC in my opinion is perfect for the person who likes to just follow someone. Pick someone in front of you doing the speed you want and then set your distance gauge and don't worry about the gas/brake. All you do is just follow them at their speed.
ACC is a pain like others have said when someone cuts in front of you and the truck slams on brakes. Or, if you don't change lanes fast enough before you get on someone it will try and brake while you are changing lanes.
My '25 limited has both cruise modes as has been illustrated in this thread. I have been trying to embrace the differences and technology of both having come from regular cruise in previous vehicle.

I do, too, sometimes. Do I really care? No, not really. I get where I'm going 5 seconds later? Meh. And it only happens when I'm not paying attention, so....
