Not really hard, there is a lot of pulling and stretching, 25 hog rings per cushion. 3 beers between seats, time consuming.

Looks amazing very oem’ish. I loved my Katskin setup in my old 4th gen Ram. I applaud you for even doing the install yourself ( hell I wouldn’t lol).

You can do an Katzkin install yourself if you have sufficient time and patience. It is as good a quality or better than OEM.

The install is very much the reverse of the remove of the cloth. There are quite a few steps per seat, so you either need to have a great memory, or take some notes/pictures.

NOTE - The kit had all the leather and even included leather for the middle seat (which I didn't have), BUT didn't include any instructions. I watched some YouTube videos of similar installs.

The only tool I had to buy was a set of hog ring pliers and some new hog rings.

My Katzkin kit cost $840, purchased off eBay.

Katzkin. Starts around $1500.00 installed if you choose one of their canned designs.

I opted for heated seats and designed my own. It cost $2600.00 installed. So, definitely not cheap. But they are very nice. A lot depends on the installer. View attachment 94248

Thought about going the Katzkin route, they are tops. But I always loved the OEM Built To Serve seats and managed to find a complete set on eBay for $750, practically new. Had them installed at a reputable upholstery shop as I wanted a professional install, he did it for $600.. Total cost with install was $1350. Couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

So someone was selling these off of their existing Ram? I guess I’m asking if there is a seller or distributor who sells these brand new. Love the look of these!

It was a dude who took them off his new BTS and converted his to Katzkin. Prob hard to find, only 10,000 units built. Think I got lucky!

Finally installed. 3 hours of blood, sweat and tears. This is just the front. Tackle the rear next weekend. My hands are sore like hell, but worth it.

Is that color Alabaster? Could you share more pics? Trying to figure out what accent color I'm going to select for my leather Katzkins in my original black/diesel gray interior. Stuck between Alabaster, which matches the roof and pillars, or some sort of grey like Graphite or Lapis. Supposedly Lapas matches the diesel grey, but I might like a darker grey like Graphite.

I have used Katzkin, Roadwire and Alea in my Rams.
Katzkin is the softest but least durable.
Roadwire the most durable but least soft.
The Alea is a happy medium right in the middle.

Its all nice but I will be using the Alea on all mine in the future. We are hard on our seats. I own a wrecker company and we run Ram 5500s The 19 that I drive has 55k on it and the Alea has been on it since 400 miles. We treat them every 30 days or so with leather conditioner. The Alea still looks new. My Roadwire is in a 17 Ram 5500 and it wearing great but at 140k the stuffing is breaking down so we plan to restuff and reuse the Roadwire

Has anyone ever embarked on this quest? I have a a Bighorn with the diesel grey premium cloth seats. I love everything about my truck, but one of my 2 regrets was not getting a leather seating inside.

Has anyone converted their cloth seats to leather? Would this work be done by a local auto upholstery place? Would you mind sharing a rough price of what it cost you?

Almost every vehicle I have had to this point has had a leather seating surface and I’m not sure why I didn’t go with this on my current rig. One of the trucks I was considering, the salesperson said they could put leather in for me, so I’m sure it can be done.

Thanks for your time and input!
Okay, assuming you got the leather seats regret solved…what was your second regret?

Thanks. Any chance you have more pics to post? Looks like you picked a light color stitching like silver?
Here’s a couple. For some reason, it looks grayer in the pic than it actually is. Yes, I did contrast stitching and piping.

It looks very good and they are holding up well. I got them installed back in February.

That looks awesome I'm going with that. Thanks. Man your installation is top notch as well. No wrinkles or sags at all. Congrats!
