Why is there a spot for half-dollars? I would bet that I haven't seen a half dollar in circulation in 10+ years. And why are the coins slots ordered by size instead of value? Dimes after pennies really?

Absolutely. I found out once that my local Popeye's Chicken changed the drive-thru to cash only. It shortened the line and I was placing my order when they told me. Luckily I had $40 on me to pay for my family bucket. It was a win-win.People still carry cash?
