2021 Ram 1500 Laramie. when I use remote start the climate control is in the Off position. It is off until I physically turn it on. The winter temp in my area is usually around 40 to 50 degrees in the morning, therefore it is cold in the cab. I should be able to set my heater and fan at a desired setting and expect it to be there on remote start, because that is the whole point of remote start. That is how my other Trucks have been in the past. I have a claim/ complaint sent into Chrysler but was wondering if anybody else has this issue?

I believe that even if I have the hvac off it will turn on during remote start but will turn off once you push the button and put the ignition into "Run" mode.

In the book it says remote start the will adjust the climate settings depending outside ambient temp. The settings the driver has on will not activate until the start button is pushed. So it seems the Truck decides instead of the actual owner.

Have you tried turning off auto comfort in Uconnect.

Yes

Yes, Auto comfort is off. I tried both ways with the same result. Also tried to save driver keyfob memory settings as someone suggested. The heat will come on for what they call ambient temp but it is super low.

There must be something wrong with your truck, on a remote start, it should be at the temp you last had.

I tried both Auto temp (ATC) and Manual temp (MTC) with same result. I am confused because the owners manual says when on MTC and using Remote Start
"the settings will based on the last settings selected by the driver."

My remote start works fine, heats up OK with heated seat and stearing wheel as well. I think the temp is set at + 3 or 4 C (so 37 or 38 F) for the this to kick in.
The interesting part is that when I open the door, the heating stops (which is fine). I'm not sure what 'heating' mode comes on...

Page 22 of the the 2020 Owners Manual:
When Remote Start is activated, the heated
steering wheel and driver heated seat features
will automatically turn on in cold weather.
In warm weather, the driver vented seat feature
will automatically turn on when the remote start
is activated. These features will stay on through
the duration of Remote Start or until the ignition
switch is placed in the ON/RUN position.

That is the only mention of remote start and its interaction with comfort settings.

Its on page 24 under Remote Start Systems.

It should start with your last setting.
Thats what I think. I went to the Dealership and we tried other 2021 rams and they did the same thing. Maybe its a software glitch.
Every morning this week its been 41 degrees in the morning, cold cab is annoying on such an expensive truck.

The outside Temp has to be 40 degrees or less for the heat to turn on with remote start.

Hi @linetrader, we certainly understand how this is an inconvenience! If at any point you decide to address this with your Ram dealer, our team is just a private message away and more than willing to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for further support through that process. Please do not hesitate to reach out if needed.

41 is not cold enough to activate the seats and steering wheel heating.

Exactly. Page 625 of my owner's manual states:

"NOTE: When the “Auto-On Driver Heated/Vented Seat & Steering Wheel” feature is selected, the driver’s heated seat and heated steering wheel will automatically turn on when temperatures are below 40° F (4.4° C). When temperatures are above 80° F (26.7° C), the driver vented seat will turn on."

Mine works as advertised.

It is unfortunate that you can't control that threshold. 40 seems arbitrary. And pretty chilly.

It`s not too bad. Specially for an ex-pat Finn.
I bet not. I'm pretty hearty, but must agree with the previous commenter that having a warm cab on a cold/cool/whatever I feel like morning seems like the point of autostart. My usage will trend more to cooling the cab down, but toasty buns on a dreary morning seems like a reasonable expectation in an expensive truck.
