Cell Phone Holder Location

Another vote here for ProClip, and they are having a black Friday sale (pummeling my email all week with offers)
The ProClip seems to look the cleanest and simplest in design. I like the vent mount as it's right above the start button and doesn't block the vent.

so i had one of those you described on my 4runner before and tbh, putting it where the stock phone holder is not that big of an annoyance.
the wireless charger from factory is terrible because it is not a quick charger. It is a wireless charger running on historical spec.

i do run a dash mount and holder with arm to mount my iPad for off pavement navigation, simply because wireless carplay does not work well with Gaia GPS at all.

Parts used:
ICS Fabrication Ram 1500 Dash Mount - Made in USA
67Design device holder and arm - also Made in USA - they do have magnetic holder if you prefer.

Bulletpoint is much cheaper than 67Design, BUT it is not the original company and also not made in USA.

Nice setup! I see on ICS' site they have options for the 8.4" and the 12" radio. Do you happen to know if the 12" option also works with the 14" factory radio?

I think I like this one better than the ProClip as it seems you can get your phone even more out of the way of the vent. Does it obstruct the vent at all? From the pics, it seems like you can rotate your phone out of the way.

Going to give the OffRoam non Qi magnetic holder a shot. Just ordered using “BlackFriday” as the discount code. Thanks to PurpleRT for the link.

This is coming from a guy that generally hated all visible phone mounts, you either had to sacrifice a vent or deal with staring at a bulky mount constantly. Better picture in the link below gives you a better idea.. you can rotate it out of the way of the vent. I use their magsafe mount and when not in use is easily removed and the vent mount itself is hardly noticeable. Fun fact I have the Offroam vent mount for my work truck F150 too so when I drive that (rarely) I just transfer the wireless charger to that and takes no time.

No problem, you’ll be happy. Such an easy/simple/wonderful mount design.

Got my Off-road MagSafe holder yesterday, and man, this thing is awesome. It's like it was made for the truck from the factory.

So easy to put on and in a great location where nothing is blocked and it doesn't stand out or blocking anything.

It's extremely secure and made of a heavy material and easy to move around.

One last thing, the magnet is not too strong or weak -- just right.

Great job Offroam --thanks for the advice guys!

Well said about the magnet.. it’s just right. With past mounts its either the magnet is too strong and you yank the mount off trying to grab your phone or the magnet was so weak any bump or turn will have your phone slinging.

Since I asked the question: Checking back in to confirm that the ICS mount does in fact work with the 14" screen. Their site advertised fitment for the 12" only, so I decided to take a chance and it fit like a charm using the same mounting points. I'll be using this with an AMPS 20mm ball and a short arm/pressure clamp to hold my phone just off the upper-left corner of the radio.

Very impressed with the quality so far. It seems heavy duty (which is great since I'll also be mounting 2 other accessories to it) and the powder coat is flawless. Always happy to support a solid American company. 🇺🇸
