Carlinkit AI Box for full screen AA?

I'm really not sure. I was reading the instruction manual before it arrives and it mentions a SIM card. I didn't know if functionality was reduced if you paired your phone to the box vs having a SIM card.
The SIM card is used if you don't want to pair your phone or don't have one. With a SIM card in the box, it acts as stand alone phone. You will need a SIM card from a provider, and of course pay the service.

I got the Carlinkit Tbox set up, connected to my phone via Bluetooth and using my Wi-Fi hotspot. However, when I tap the Autolink app to connect to Android Auto, it just says "Waiting". After multi attempts, I gave up. I sent an email to Carlinkit customer support to see if they have suggestions.

Android 13 works perfectly and I can use Google Maps, etc, but you can't pinch to zoom in/out using Google Maps. I looked for settings to allow pinch zoom, but there is no such setting in the Tbox. Tapping on the screen allows you to zoom in and you can zoom out by re-centering the map, but I'd rather be able to pinch zoom.

Any suggestions on either issue?

Edit: It looks like there's a solution to the zooming in/out issue. I'll try it tomorrow.

You are running your box in CarPlay. On the lower right hit the A button to run the box in android auto. Why using android auto? Run the box full android.

You have to run CarPlay if you want full screen Android Auto.

I figured it out. I connected the Carlinkit to my phone via Bluetooth instead of the WiFi hotspot and I got it to connect to Android Auto.

I'm not sure why you're concerned whether I'm running Android Auto or not. I realize I can use the Carlinkit to use my display as an Android tablet, because I ran it that way. I just want the option to switch to Android Auto.
