Carlinkit AI Box for full screen AA?

This guy claims he is able to get full screen Android Auto on his 2023 TRX. He still hasn't answered my question about which Carlinkit AI Box he is using. I suppose I could ask Carlinkit support, but I wanted to ask here first to see if anyone has tried the Carlinkit AI Box with UConnect 5.

I don’t see any responses to your question here. I don’t have a TRX, but I have a Carlinkit Tbox Plus connected to my 12”Uconnect 5 screen. It works great for me. It takes a bit longer to start up, as you have to wait for it to boot after powering on the Uconnect screen. I use it to run full Android so I can use specific apps and control my Dash Cam. The one I have is 8GB/128GB. It is running Android 13 and is a Qualcomm 6125 CPU and chipset.

I don’t use AA, I have an iPhone. But I have an android device at home. I am in Florida until Friday. I will see how it works and take a pic for you sometime this weekend. I actually use straight Android with this device. The launcher for it functions with map, music and app windows tiled on the screen. I prefer the full apps vs AA or CarPlay versions.

Can you help me find out which ai box i.e. ottocast or magic box. Something like that. I have 9 in screen car play works great with my iphone 15 pro max. Just looking for way to expand apps like YouTube Netflix etc.. I hear of devices like MMB Anf and ottocast mirroring iphones.ive looked at all the boxes on Amazon and they don't say they work in rams so confused on which ones do.

Not all the boxes work with the 12” screen. They just don’t auto scale properly. I had to return one because of this. I believe the smaller screens work fine though. They all run similar software, but some brands update better than others.

I ended up replacing the entire screen/radio with an Android unit. The sound quality of the OEM radio is just crap and barely adjustable. This is the only pic I could find. But it shows the interface overlay with the OEM.

Thought of sharing my experience so far with Elite Car box 4.0 is excellent. Im running split screen, full screen both built in apps as well as android auto. Still haven't had times to customize the way I want, I will share few pics later. Most people want that to watch youtube, netflix etc. (while thats possible) but for me was to avoid disappointment everytime I open android auto on OEM and thinking of wasted space on screen.

Well, I was running one of those boxes on UC4, it performed very well. Of course split screen, but I was happy with it. Now, I updated to UC5 and guess what, Box would not run on UC5. Went on a hunt for a new box and found this. I thought if it does not work, I just send it back, no harm no foul.

After a full load, this is the start screen. Of course, was disappointed, split screen, not full screen.



But then, there is the bottom row of icons.
You can touch the 4 little squares and this comes up, like CarPlay but is is android.





Now, click on waze and load it.


Click on the map, and viola, full screen.

Same thing with Google maps, full screen.

So now, I have what I wanted on an android system car box. Love it, you can run any app from android in full screen now. No need for android auto.

Nice work @MannyN. Sharing few of my pics.
Was able to take screenshot from Torque. others are from camera. There is one app in this is underrated. Its called split apps and you can save ratio of full screen. So im running 6:4 ration Waze n Spotify. one click they both open like that. only annoying part is, if either one of app gets updated that has to setup again.

Generally, Im a happy camper
