With all of the ridiculous delays, how many folks have just said screw it and walk away to a different truck? What did you buy? Im at at almost 6 months and neither the dealership nor FCA can /will provide a delivery date.

Gia: Truck stuck at the yard

Went through the largest volume dealer in country. One guy posted he put his deposit down in Jan and got his last week. As much as I like the truck build, I'll probably grab something as a competitor drops another incentives if I am still waiting. Even start looking at used trucks.

I ordered my '26 Ram Laramie 3.0 on 1/3. It was produced 1/26 and arrived at my dealer near the end of Feb. The dealer held it for me until the bad weather broke. I took delivery on 3/9.

I've never ordered a vehicle. I've always found one I can live with, found I get better deals that way.

I plan to possibly try the same way in the future: Wait until last years models have good prices. I got 20% off on my new '23 in late March of '24 when the '25 was about to come out. This took a lot of shopping online and watching the prices. I kept track of who had previous year models that I liked.

Understandable if you have some specific options that wouldn't normally be on a vehicle.

I love the price watch most sites have now. I probably set four or five depending on what's available. It's how I got my '25. I had several makes and models set up, but I was driving across town when the alert popped up from the Ram dealer. My '21 never made it home.

I feel for ya! I went through this when I ordered a ‘22 Ram 1500 (current truck). Ordered early August, finally built mid November. Shipped to a yard early December to await delivery to dealership, which the salesman checked and told me they should have it within 2 weeks. Hah, I didn’t get it till the 3rd week of January ‘23! About 5 1/2 months total from order to ownership. In fact I was reading on forums that guys were taking delivery of ‘23s while I was still waiting.

Guys that ordered HD rams had some real long wait times I had read about, some were a year!

This time around I was considering ordering a new ‘26 Limited in Molten Red. When the order banks first opened, Molten Red wasn’t available, a few months later, it was available, but not for a Limited model. So it was like 5-6 months of waiting just to order, I lost interest.
I’ve ordered many new and on average it always takes about 3 months give or take. My ‘22 was the longest.
Can you get your deposit back? If your dealership has many trucks, maybe something they have in stock would fit your needs? Otherwise, you just have to wait.

If it's stuck at the yard the issue is your dealer, not RAM .
Sorry that's not true. We do not control which vehicles get delivered from the railyards to dealership on which day. There would be no benefit to us delaying, if we could.

As of yesterday we had 19 customer orders sitting at the last railyard, it would be much to our benefit to have a guaranteed sale delivered ASAP rather than a stock vehicle that doesn't have a buyer yet.

For reference out of 174 active factory orders we have in the system, 12 are older than 90 days, 6 over 120, and 3 over 180. Not a widespread issue currently, but there are always outliers.
That being said, significantly frustrating to be an outlier - data doesn't change that!

When I bought my Built to Serve in 2020, the dealer I bought it from somehow got the truck expedited from the rail yard. I was talking to two different dealers, both said it could take a couple weeks to get the trucks delivered from rail yardz as both trucks were sitting there. But the one was able to get mine in like two days. Like I said, not sure what strings they pulled to get it delivered, but they were able to make it happen. They are the local dealer with highest sales for Ram though, so that might have had something to do with it.

Hi Anthony, as I said above my truck sat at the rail yard for about 6-7 weeks. It was only about 65 miles away. I asked about just going to pick it up and I was told that can’t be done. So I waited.
Funny thing is, I have occasionally picked up new Chevys from holding yards when the dealership didn’t want to wait.
For some reason Ram trucks can’t be picked up, I was also told the same thing back in 2015. I found a Ram I wanted on the ram truck website (like I found the Red Tungsten @ your place) and that dealer was waiting for the delivery. They also told me they can’t self deliver it.

What site were you using that sent that alert?
