Can anyone identify this knocking noise?

I have a 2024 Hemi 4x4 with 25k miles. It's been developing a ticking/knocking noise. The dealers told me it's normal and that they can't hear a problem. "It's got Hemi tick." "This manufacturer's engines get noisy" they told me.

The video is from underneath. It can be heard from anywhere. I'm aware of the lifter issues and the exhaust problems. This sounds like a knock. It sounds like its coming from the bell housing, but it could be from anywhere. I've sent the engine oil to blackstone for analysis but it looks clean visually.

Any help or experience would be appreciated! What do you think it is?

Hemi tic is not normal, nor knocking. These engines are really quiet, except for the hemi rumble. It sounds like the beginning of the tick possibly.
Close the hood and listen, and see how noticeable it is then. The tick, or an exhaust leak should be easier to hear without the other motor noise.
He doesn't know the first, or second, thing about engines if he calls it normal. Find another dealer.

Mine sounds similar. ‘22 Sport GT. This sound isnt coming from under the engine like your video suggests.

But I held the injector and the pulse was in time with the tick.
My research says. Hemis have loud *** injectors.
Im due for an injector service. Whatever that entail's.
I did run a bottle of cleaner through.
Im also thinking the belt and tensioner/pulley needs replacing. Slight whirring after startup.

Yep not normal , did you think of just stopping at a independent shop for a quick listen ?

Is the sound when cold or hot?

The expensive tick everyone is afraid about is when hot, at idle, and isn't a consistent tick, its inconsistent and pings around, unlike the sound in your video.

Well, if this sound on the recording is like real life, then I can tell you it's not the Hemi tick I heard on mine. This sounds much louder.

It could be cracked manifold or broken manifold bolts. Usually that will sound louder when engine is cold, and will then fade.

Thanks for your replies! It's consistent other than being louder when warm, oddly. It's very loud. I'm leaning towards the injectors. I've listened with a stethoscope and it seems to be loudest on the injector rail. If the oil comes back from blackstone with normal levels of iron, I'll be pretty confident its not the lifter fail. The oil appeared clean to the eye when I dropped it last week. I'm going to open up the old oil filter to be sure it hasn't been catching chips. I'll take a look at the manifold bolts, too, but I doubt it's that one.

Hi @woods767 should you choose to revisit the dealer regarding this concern, feel free to send our team a private message for an extra layer of support.

Sounds like a valve slapping the seat or a rocker arm slapping the salve stem both because of a collapsed lifter, ergo, a bad lifter.

If you're inclined, you could take the valve covers off and check for a loose rocker arm and that will tell you where the collapsed lifter is.
You'll need to have each cylinder you check on the compression stroke so the valves/rocker arms are on the cams base circle and not the lobe
