I didn't wanna thread jack Tacticalpanda but I had a crazy thought. From what I understand the 5.7 is supposed to be the same basic motor in the 19's as the '18's. So I went outside and looked at my daughters boyfriends '18 5.7 and the stock intake looks somewhat similar to the '19's. Does anyone have a pix of a 4th gen 5.7 with a CAI to use as a visual reference to check compatibility?20180806_200301.jpg20180806_200328.jpg
 
Curious to see the answer, but I’m holding off for the Mopar one. Hopefully it’s being made by someone other than the RamBox plastic manufacturer.

I can take a picture of my 4th gen with CAI tomorrow, let me know if there are any specific angles or pieces you want to see

Thanks, I can't fathom that there is going to so much of a difference between the two that a 4th gen CAI can't be used.
 
The stock factory intake system is actually a good cold air design aftermarket filters.

Hello - I recenlty installed a varam CAI last November. Everything has been running fine until now. My fan is continuously running while driving and I can't figure out why. I've checked my coolant, and it's full. Could it be because of the heat? I live in Texas and noticed it starting happening when the temperature started getting above 90 degrees. Any help would or suggestions be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
 
Have you driven it in the summer before? With temps in the 90's and my AC on the fan is pretty much constantly running unless I'm driving on the interstate.
 
I drove it in the summer last year, but it had the stock intake on it. I guess I never noticed the fan running before. Either I'm noticing it more now, or something else. When I installed the CAI I left the shroud off, maybe that's why I hear it more. I've checked all my gauges and they are normal as well. Strange.

Turn your A/C off. Then the fan won't run all the time.

Any particular reason you left the fan shroud off? Fan shrouds help with cooling. You might consider putting it back on.

I think he meant the plastic cover on top. With the Vararam, you are supposed to cut it for the Vararam "scoop" that goes in front of radiator.

But that does also help directbair through radiator. I haven't noticed any issues with fan running more with my Vararam.

Correct, that is what I was referring to. I left it off because I wasn't sure how to cut it and I read that it can actually restrict airflow.
 
I trimmed mine, then used a heat gun to bend it up some to keep the RAM letters.
Looks great! did you use a template to cut it? One thing I didn't consider is that I do mudding/overlanding around Texas and there's no cover to keep water or mud out of the intake.

No worries about getting mud or water in there. It has drains.

I traced out where I wanted to cut freehand. Then used a jigsaw to cut it.

This was from over this last winter out busting through 3-4' snow drifts. As you can. See e tire engine bay was packed solid with snow, barely anything in intake
