Bumper Paint Chipping Off

Has anyone noticed the paint on the front bumper of their Rebel chipping off? I've got about 16k miles on my truck and when washing it yesterday, noticed paint chipping off. At first I thought that was my plastidipped section coming off (did the skid plate), but then I realized that was the actual bumper chipping down to steel. I rubbed my fingernail over it and more came off.

I'm quite disappointed in the quality of the paint if that is expected behavior...prior vehicles never chipped like that. Before I contact Ram, has anyone else seen this issue? Anyone used anything to touch it up?

Is it chipping on it's own, or is it road debris impacting the bumper? If the latter, nothing you can do about this, except going the PPF route.
Otherwise, the bumper may not have been properly prepped before painting, therefore a warranty item.

I have to assume some road debris but the paint was chipping away when hit with the power washer from about a foot away..paint seemed pretty thin when I ran my finger over it. Seems odd how brittle it is.

Def not normal, and I have not heard others mention this. I would def let the Dealer know. This should not be happening.

Agree with RebelWraith…. That does not appear to be the stock coating on your bumper. Looks like the whole front end has been painted including the emblem and grill shell.

Who painted the front bumper of your Rebel? The front bumper has a textured matte powder coat. It should not be gloss like in your pictures. The coating below the gloss is the factory coating.

Ahh sorry - should've disclaimed those photos were while it was soaking wet. Bumper is the usual bumper - the emblem and skid plate were plastidipped, everything else is as it was when I bought it new. Dry photo below for reference with one of the chips showing a few weeks ago.

Ok now I see that. The original pics look like the factory coating was painted over. If there is no obvious rock chip or dent, can't hurt to bring it up to dealer.

I have had a few small ones on mine, I just used the stock black touch up pen as I have the 2 tone silver and black.
As for PPF it won't stick to the power coated bumper properly and it looks like crap. I had my installer try a small section on mine.
