So I'm at the dealership and looking through their inventory when I noticed a Limited sitting in the back. As I get closer I can see hardware hanging down. I look in the bed and it's the running boards but all of the brackets are broke.

It's a brand new truck that hasn't even made PDI yet. Think I will go Nfab.

Not folding steps

I doubt that's a problem with the running boards. It looks like someone did something really stupid to break all 4 brackets in the same spot, like using them as tie-down points to secure the truck to a car hauler.

Yep. Looks like someone broke them. I weigh 220lbs and I've put all my weight on them as I was the roof and they are rock solid.

Yup, I wouldn’t have any other running boards. The running boards come out as a full step. The stationary kind are too high and too close to the truck where I can only get half my size 13 foot. Love these power running boards. Very strong and convenient.

Waiting for my newly ordered 2020 Laramie Longhorn, Delmonico Red, chrome bumpers, 20” wheels, 5.7 V8 Hemi MDS VVT eTorque, 3.92 rear, all options except diesel, multifunction tailgate, protection group and trailer tow group. Interior Black/New Saddle. Looking forward to delivery. Truck arrived!!! Yes!

I’m walking around at about 305 lately and have never had a problem with my power boards...

I'm 250lb and was wearing a 60lb vest Saturday while working out. I loaded my 35lb son into a car seat while standing on the step with the vest on. That's about 350lbs and they felt very solid. I get more bounce out of the suspension on the truck then I do from the steps. The steps are rated for 600lbs each so with a 10% safety factor (minimum) you'd be looking at 660lbs minimum to break some part of the steps.

Some dumbass probably didnt know what they were doing and used a hydraulic lift to raise the truck to work under it or change/rotate tires and put the arms for the lift somewhere they shouldnt have been.

I think these were broken from the bottom up (like they put the truck on a lift and forget to either turn off side-step deployment or forgot to use the extra tall adapters to miss the steps).

Sorta like and egg -- hard to crack squeezing small end and large end .. but a child can squeeze from sides and have it break :)

My truck has the same running boards and the support broke off with trash on the road , something metal is there any way I can just buy that support?

I'd say that's a question for your dealership. Or you might be able to source parts from a salvage yard. But I would think they'd be reluctant to sell just one part unless they have an incomplete set of steps. You never know unless you ask though.

I'm 200 pounds...had my 125 pound wife on my shoulders...had my 120 pound 12 year old in my arms and had the dog stand next to me and it held us all just fine.........
