Blind spot monitoring

Here is where I am at. My AEB/BSM issues had gotten pretty bad, occuring on more than half of drives. I took the truck into the dealer in late June and drove it in with the issue active and left it running for them to diagnose. They found a bad pin in a connecter in the wiring harness doing a "wiggle test." I picked the truck up and drove it home in a heavy rainstorm and it was great until that evening when I restarted it and the AEB/BSM issues all came back. Took the truck back to the dealer a couple of days later and they have had it for over 30 days- they thought they found another wiring issue and fixed that, but the problem came back on testing. They subsequently found a bad module and it took a while to get it in. Dealer has been working with Engineering on this problem and they have another Tungsten in for the same issue also. My module is now here, but not installed yet. I am expecting truck back today or Monday. Been driving a loaner Big Horn from the dealer.

Once I get the truck back, I will be happy if this issue is fixed. If not, I may actually move to lemon law the truck. But will have a convo with the dealer before then and see if they have another resolution path in mind. This is the 3rd visit to the dealer for the same issue and more than 30 days out of service. I really like the truck and it looks like the Tungstens are going for more money than I paid, but I don't want to be dealing this issue forever. This has been pretty disappointing.

I do wonder if this BSM issue is confined to the higher level trims or the ones with hands free active driving assist. I don't hear about lower trims having this problem but kep hearing about Tungstens and Limiteds with it. I think our BSM detectors are in the rear bumper vs other trims have them in the tailights I believe. I suspect the different components or where they are located is the issue. I would hope Ram finds a fix.
I've only seen people with the higher level trims mentioning this issue, including the RHO model as well.

For mine they fixed my issue with the door locks, still doesn't show up in the options, but it's working now. They've ordered a replacement module for the one that is behind the back seat. Waiting on that part to arrive for them to swap it out.

A week out from the repair I’ve not had a repeat of the issue. The AEB system acted weird for a moment but after power cycling the truck off for an hour or so the warning went away and after that I engaged the Hands-Free Driving Assist for a few miles where I was on controlled access roads.

I have a longer drive planned this weekend so will update after that.

Made a 400 mile round trip this weekend with the Hands Free Driving Assist active most of it and Hands-On for where the roads weren’t supported without issue. No warning messages for the AEB or Blind-Spot monitoring system. Had a few places where I received alerts about limited functionality for lane keeping but I think that had more to do with the roads or data that is in the system for those roads than anything with the system itself.

The system did not like I-85 South between the SC state line and Spartanburg.

What module did they replace? I have a 2025 Limited now and I am having this same chronic problem. There is also a Tungseten at the dealer with the same exact problem. Thanks

Alright, just got back from the dealer.

They replaced the DSM/Driver Monitoring Module (4672920AE) then found that there was still a communications issue with some modules. They found a XY402A connector that wasn’t in the locked position and fixed that. I got a bit freaked out because the lane monitoring wasn’t working but I was just an idiot and hadn’t realized that the tech had turned it off via the button in the side of the radio screen for whatever reason. I did hit the button for Active Driving Assistance and it communicated it was ready but I was in rush hour traffic and not on appropriate roads to test it. I’ll be taking a road trip in the next week or two for testing.

I’m attaching the work order for information and hoping it helps y’all. I’ll let you all know if it pops back up in the coming days or if it survives the stress test of the road trip.
How is it going? Did this fix the issue? Really hope so, would be great to get me dealer to do the same.

Good so far. Appears to have fixed it. Drove about 400 miles this weekend using the assisted driving features. I believe the issues encountered during the trip were more the result of the roads or their dataset not including updated information. SC roads are horrible and the section where the issues were encountered had road construction going on for years which may explain why it only registered the existence of two lanes and not three. Had no issues on the interstates in NC except where there was road construction telling me to put my hands on the wheel which I expect is a feature (I agree) and not a bug.

I have been waiting to post this because I did not want to jinx myself. As a recap I was getting the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)/ Automated Emergency Braking (AEB) failure on more than half of drives. This would turn the blind spot monitors on for both mirrors and they are so bright you can hardly use the side mirrors at night. I have a Tungsten with about 5000 miles on it. I waited until the fault was happening more than half the time I started the truck. The dealer had found a loose pin on a connector to the CADM module and that fixed the truck for about 1 day and 60 miles. I was also having a phantom parksense unavailable, wipe sensors issue that was happening constantly. I took the truck back to the dealer and here is what happened:

Dealer had the truck about 35 days. Was troubleshooting it with another Tungsten which had exact same issues. They involved factory engineering. They seemed to be only able to trouble shoot the truck when the fault was actively happening, which should not have been too hard to find. Eventually they found a fault with the Central ADAS Decision Module (CADM) which they said is located behind the rear seat. Part number 68641123AG. They replaced the module and had to recalibrate it, including the camera located in front of the rear view mirror. troubleshooting this issue and then waiting on the new module took forever. They also verified my truck was fixed with several test drives over a couple of days.

I have now had the truck back for 3 weeks. I did a long road trip to my wife's family - so have gone about 1500 miles. Been through very heavy rains also and I have not had the BSM/AEB fault re-occur. I have used hands free active driving assist and the non-hands free extensively over this time period. So for now, it looks like my truck is fixed. Knock on wood. I did see a couple of false alerts in one mirror when driving in super heavy rain- but it never kicked out. Also the Parksense error is still occuring, yet infrequently, and always seems to clear itself right after startup. I park about 3 inches from the garage wall, so not sure if this is a factor. I really like the truck, so I am hoping it is fixed. I also noted that my lane placement with active driving assist has shifted a bit with the recalibration - truck is more centered now whereas before was slightly biased to the right side of the lane. Only thing I have not tried is a car wash, which seemed to trip the error the first time it ever occurred.

The service manager told me that the other truck had both CADM modules bad - both CADM1 and CADM2. They said that truck also was fixed. Service manager also mentioned that the Tungsten uses Coax cables for the blind spot monitoring signals, which is is new and different from some of the other trim levels. Maybe there is a run of bad CADM modules that are out there?

Anyhow - I hope mine is fixed for good. These trucks are pretty amazing when everything works.

Yes, I have both issues and now they see to go off at the same time. I have a 2025 Limited. Did you ever get a resolution on explanation?
Still haven’t taken it back in, waiting for ram box replacements for over 120 days. Did you take yours in?

Mine does the exact same thing. I too noticed that when it's hot out, it's constant. In the northeast here we had a couple of weeks where temps were in the 90's and very humid. It was going off constanly, every time I drove the truck. We then had a week of temps in the 70's and low humidity and it hardly went off. Now temps are back in the 90's and high humidity again and it's constant.
Your post makes me think I’m not crazy, south central Texas here and much more prominent when it’s high temps.
