Best oil to use

I use the most expensive full synthetic I can find. The more you spend the better it has to be...right? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Actually, my recommendation is to do your own research. Don't listen to a bunch of strangers on a forum. Asking a question like this in this kind of environment will only add to the confusion and misinformation you already have.

He's right, Perhaps ask your dealership service guys. They will promote what they believe is right, but in the end only you can decide what you want.

ok
What brand of Oil filter should I use ?
I used a Mopar , IS that ok?

I'm sold on the "synthetic media" with a silicone anti drain back valve. Mopar filter is just paper media and it stops filtering properly after a while. The silicone ADV means you get less problems with dry lifter tick at startup. There are a few brands that do this, Royal Purple + Wix are great choices.

You can also use Mopar in the same way that you can use 87 octane. You can, but better options exist so it just depends on how good you want to treat your truck.

Typically I use a special filter media, Filtronium, that is made from a substance harvested from rocks in Saturn's rings. This restructures the oil molecules as it removes the impurities. This is the most expensive thing I could find so I figured it must be the best.

If they are out of stock at Autozone, I just use whatever paper filter is on sale at the time.

What is the part # for the Royal Purple oil filter you are using?

These are my notes I wrote down a while ago:
RP 20-820 = widest filter, best coverage
RP 20-500 = slightly less wide, longer, next best coverage
RP 10-48 = smallest, good coverage

I've used the 10-48 in the past, my current oil filter is the 20-820 but apparently it's a tight fit (I don't change my own oil I bring it to a shop)

I stole another guys comments/calculations from a different forum, he wrote:

Database's filter capacity is stated in displacement - is not the filter area, only the canister volume. If you equate a rough correlation between canister volume and filter area, the Royal Purple filters are as follows:
10-48 = 28.21 cu. in. standard size
20-500 = 37.95 cu. in. oversize length +34% volume
20-820 = 45.60 cu. in. oversize diameter +62% volume

I like PUP. Ran it in both of my 5th gens and works just fine for me. Plus its not overly expensive.
