Best Oil for Hemi "Tick"

I have had a few 5.7s, older 05 gen Durango, sold it with 185,000 miles, a 13 Ram 5.7 traded it in with 125k, now my current 21 bighorn 5.7. Never had the Hemi tick in any, just manifold bolts broke and were replaced. I only use PUP and 8oz of lubeguard biotech moly enhancer, in bigger bottle they call it lubeguard heavy duty. Pup was just on sale for $20 a jug too, so bought 6, cant beat that deal. The lubeguard is only engine additive I will use. I do use fuel injector cleaner (has to have PEA) additive to gas regularly and feel improvement after a tank, I double dose the recommended amount once a year in tank. I change my oil at 8k miles, so for me is about once a year and always used Puraltor boss 20k oil filters. I have run the valvoline restore and protect in other vehicles and my riding 26hp lawnmower, if I ran it in my hemi, I would run it like 4k miles to clean up engine, then go back to the pup and lubeguard.

Today I had my oil changed, at the dealer, for my "Love Machine" RAM 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. When I was all done service advisor at first told me they put in a semi-synthetic then quickly said, oh they have a different gun back there so you did get the Full Synthetic oil. But I wonder......... so I think I'm going to change my oil somewhere different next time, and I thought if it does have semi-synthetic, then why not change oil at let's say every 4,000 miles. That would be a good idea regardless of what oil goes in, right? My 2021 RAM calls for 5-20 grade oil and after reading everybody's thoughts, I really don't know what to think. My mileage is only 60,000 right now and I've got the low gear ratio so I'm getting higher RPMs then the normal RAM driver with the "normal" rear end. I live in Colorado, so yeah it gets cold in the winter but I also take long trips to Oklahoma and Texas on business. I'm still thinking go with 5-20 but what are your thoughts for my situation? Thank guys, and I'm brand new here on the forum.

I say don't over think it. Use what you feel comfortable with. I use 5w-30 in all my cars that ask for 5w-20. But honestly, as long as you change the oil at the correct intervals you will be fine. And there is nothing wrong with following the recommended 5w-20 if that's what keeps things in your comfort zone. Also, if they put in semi synthetic oil, I wouldn't sweat about that either. Years ago with my first 4th gen 1500 with the same 5.7 hemi available today, the dealer would use dino oil. I never had issues with that truck either.

Thanks RedFred. I think you're right. I think I should stop thinking about it and go make myself a scotch and water!
But thanks so much!
