Bedrug and mopar hard trifold tonneau compatibility

Does anyonee have this combo? Watched install video for bedrug and at the end there was mention of J clip interfering with some tonneau covers and an alternate install directly to the tailgate instead of using j clip. Does anyone have this specific combination and know whether I can use the j clip or not?

I have this combo. Just had to cut an inch or so off each side of the J clip. Tailgate is a little harder to close with the cover down but it closes fine without causing the “tailgate open” light on the dash.
