Just had software flash ( AC not cooling) and had drivers side mirror replaced ( would not tilt), now when Truck powers down the background lighting on the USB ports comes on and stays on !!! Anyone else have this issue, assume this will drain battery over time, more gremlins....

I recognize this is concerning for you, sergetexan. If you end up getting this inspected, let us know. Our team is available via private message and would be glad to get you an additional layer of assistance while in service.

Normal on my Rebel because the key fob is present(probably in your pocket).

Yup, if your keyfob in on you, that could be it.

Also, if you forget to turn off your overhead lights, like say you leave the switch in the on position, after you lock your truck (with key at least 20 ft away), all accessory lights will automatically turn off after 10 minutes.

They of course will turn on again the second you unlock your truck until you manually switch it off. But at least no worries if you forget them on overnight.

If U time it, U will see the USB stays powered up for 1 hour. Why, dunno. I did not have this problem till some updates were flashed.

The 1 hour USB is actually a feature, such as people charging their phones while they have lunch or something like that.

Also, it will reset anytime you open the door, so should you open the door to check if the USB is live after 1 hour, it's likely to be back on.

Definitely part of the system, like leaving your visor lights on, they have a 10 minute time out so you don't run down your battery should you forget to turn it off, but if you open your door, they turn back on for another 10 minutes. Most of your modules turn on after the door is opened, it's the reason why mechanics will artificially make the car think the doors are closed when investigating power drains so those modules are off while they find which one is actually still draining power.

I haven't been keeping up with it, but I thought there was some sort of way to turn that feature off by messing with the circuit breakers?

I'd love to turn it off after purchasing a wireless adapter for Android Auto, phone stays connected to the adapter for that hour

I agree, I disconnect my Android Auto dongle when I shut off for the day, luckily I placed it really close to the USB C outlet on my front console, so easy to disconnect.

Plug the Android Auto dongle into one of the USB ports behind the center console; they shut off with the truck.

Android Auto has to be plugged into one of the data ports, just realized that trying my top dash idea, so that won't work either. Has to be into one of the 4 connectors at the front of the dash. The ones at the back only have power, at least on my truck, maybe newer models or trims have data all around?

That's too bad. The back ones in my 23 are for power only as well. My 12 volt on top of the dash was set to constant on battery, but I think I can change that by changing a fuse position. I wish the USB port inside the center console was a data port as it was in my last Ram. That's where I would hide my music thumb drive.

Yes, U can change the 12 Volt on top of dash from "constant" to key. That fuse, I think 54, do not quote me, is in the fuse box which is under the steering wheel area behind the dash. You have to remove the small panel under the steering wheel area to access. U just change the fuse position, it is a 2 position fuse.

It may not be the prettiest for most, but it works.
