Hi all,

In my Ford, the electronic Peking brake releases automatically after a short delay when the accelerator is pressed. It is convenient not having to release it manually.

Is there a way to get the Ram to do this, or do I need to release it manually every time?

First world problems, I know!

Thanks!

Mine auto releases when I put into drive and my seat belt is on. This might be a setting within uconnect.

The Electric Parking Brake on my RAM automatically releases when I have the engine running, foot on the brake, the D/S seat belt buckled and shift into Reverse or Drive.

Yep. I have mine configured to automatically come on when the truck goes into park, and automatically releases as described above. It's definitely configurable in the uconnect settings, and I never worry about setting/releasing it. The catch is (as mentioned twice already); you need the seatbelt on first, before attempting to shift out of park to get it to automatically release. If you do the order the otherway, it won't automatically release.

There is a setting in the menus to automatically set parking brake when shifted I to park. This also releases the parking brake when you shift into gear, but have to have brake pedal pushed down harder than you think. if you don't have it set to be automatic in the menu, then yes you have to manually release it

Really? I haven't noticed that I have to apply any signficant brake pressure. I should try this next time, see if it makes a difference.

Curious...do you wear your seat belt?

Always! I think the issue is that when I enter the car, I first hit the start button, then turn the transmission knob, then buckle, then accelerate. It sounds like I need to buckle before turning the transmission knob to fix my issue. I will try tomorrow morning.

Will take a while to get used to the new sequence!

That will fix it!
