Automatic Running Boards

Hello! Thanks for allowing me to join your group! I just purchased my second Ram, my first 5th gen. I absolutely love it. It is the limited trim level and the automatic running board on the passenger side intermittently won't deploy. It says there is an obstruction. I can be parked next to nothing, and that error will occur. I've tried lubricating all the locations I can. Is there a sensor that could be dirty or something else that could be causing this problem? Dealership has gone quiet... Also, would this be covered in the warranty?

It's used. A 2020 with 43,000 miles.

Not going to be covered under standard warranty.
You buy it private or a dealer?
If a dealer, and it hasn’t been too long or too many miles, I’d ask them to give you a break on the repair.
