Anyone see this error before? It happened today and after cycling power on truck it went away.

I have a bighorn, so its a different display. But, I can scroll to the start/stop display, and it will give me the full message. So, I wonder if this is showing of error, or just start/stop is disabled due to some condition (Mine doesn't work when the temperature is above 109°F)

It didn’t respond when I pushed the disable button. If it happens again i will look for a more detailed message.

Yes, my 2019 Limited with 1250 miles threw the same error. It is now in the shop and they diagnosed it required a new computer. They said while diagnosing multiple errors were being generated. I'm to get it back on 8/26/19.

My error went away on next startup. It hasn’t come back. Did yours do the same?

My new 2019 Ram Rebel 5.7 Etorque, purchased 2 weeks ago, just turned 1,000 miles (900 are highway miles driving it back home from purchase, bought out of state), today displayed the same warning icon, plus start/stop not available service start/stop warning, and service engine light, as well as audible chime. Truck/drivetrain started vibrating like one or cylinders were misfiring (was on highway) when warnings occurred. Pulled over and shut off truck. Restarted, problems/warnings still existed. Limped truck home. Let sit for several hours. Restarted and same problems. Calling local Ram dealer Monday to hopefully arrange to have them tow to their service shop. Not what I expected from a brand new vehicle. So much for that happy and confidence in buying a new truck feeling. With this new Ram unfortunately that is gone forever.

No, mine stayed on and truck is in the shop for a week. They are replacing the computer Monday.

I will let you all know what local Ram service shop has to say once I am able to get truck to them and have it diagnosed.

Contacted local Ram dealer today. They will get the truck into their service department in 3 days.

Sullyman, I just called on mine and the replacement computer is throwing the same error codes and they cannot find out why...???? I'm trying to be patient but it has been a week today.

That bites. Really sorry and apprehensive to hear that. I hope they figure out the fix. It sucks to own a brand new truck you cannot even drive. I will use information you have developed, along with other posts from this forum, and relay that to the local Ram service department to give them ideas as to how to approach the issues. Had to start and move mine today. Very apparent and noticeable vibration even just idling and all the same warnings. I will post as soon as I hear something back from service department after getting the truck to them.

Sullyman, I have PM'd Mark regarding my issue.

Secondly, just back from dealer, no success at this time; new PMC shows same error codes as the old one; mechanic said he was currently running diagnostic on the 5V system. He found one, of many, ground that was loose and even had the plastic wire wrap under the bolt. He thought this would solve the issue but it did not. He showed me the error list, Greek to me, and it was 3/4 of a page. I am waiting and trying to be patient.

Hello RVAH-13 and RamCares. I have also PM'd Mark to escalate. Hopefully I PM'd him correctly. I will be dropping off my truck to the local Ram dealership late tomorrow afternoon after I get off of work. I will let you know what they come up with when they come up with a diagnosis. I intend to inform them of the tried and failed avenues of repairs for your truck. Hopefully the correct fault(s) and corrective repair action(s) will be identified, completed and this can all be put behind us. I definitely hear you on trying to be patient. It sucks having a newly purchased vehicle you cannot drive due to system failures occurring right at the onset of owning it. I hope and pray my red Ram Rebel doesn't end up being yellow.

Hi Sullyman,

Hello RVAH-13 and Mark at Ramcares. Mark I responded to your PM. I spoke with my local servicing Ram dealership today. Dropped the truck off to them yesterday. Service department advised me the are still currently diagnosing the truck and are in contact with STAR (they advised me STAR is comprised of FCA technicians) because truck only has 1,000 miles. Said they have not diagnosed problem yet, truck is throwing misfire codes, they are replacing plugs trying to narrow it down and they will contact me when they have identified and corrected as yet undiagnosed problem(s). I informed them of the similar issues with your truck and the unsuccessful attempts to correct your truck. I will let you know what is going on with the repair of my truck when I receive more information from them.

Hello RVAH-13. I heard back from the local Ram service department shortly after making my last post. They advised me that the STAR/FCA technicians instructed them to replace a suspected faulty fuel injector advising that the suspected faulty fuel injector is most likely what is causing my new ruck to throw the "start/stop unavailable, service start stop system" warning, repeated flashing check engine light, repeated audible chimes, and making the truck misfire and throw misfire codes. The local Ram service department advised me that they ordered a new fuel injector that they will not receive until the middle of next week. Really? Cannot get a hold off a 5.7 Hemi fuel injector until the middle of next week (I did not know that a 5.7 Hemi fuel injector was so specialized), which means I then have to wait at least a day or two more until they get the replacement fuel injector installed. Until the replacement fuel injector is installed the local Ram service department will not know if that corrects my new truck's faults/failure(s) or not. As a result I will now have been unable to drive my newly purchased 2019 Ram Rebel pickup truck longer that I was able to drive it. Odds are I might be making my very first monthly payment on the brand new Ram truck while it is still in the Ram service shop being diagnosed/repaired. Sorry, but as of right now that doesn't bode will for my decision to go from GMC to Ram. I hope and pray I don't regret my decision and that I can move forward from this unfortunately situation (as well as you with your unfortunate situation) and enjoy, be happy, and confident in my purchase of a new Ram truck.

Sullyman, reading your post sounds much like my situation just different possible corrective actions.

I have spoken and visited my local RAM dealer, as recent as yesterday, and they have narrowed their diagnosis to an electrical wiring problem??? When I previously stated "it quit working when I went over the railroad tracks" I felt it was a short. I was told they have also narrowed it to (3) three wires... They had previously spoke about the 5 volt system. If they are correct, it will still be sometime next week before I get my truck operational. I will say the RAM technicians monitoring this site have been involved with the process. One tech indicated the "Stop/Start" system is quite sensitive to electrical interruptions so I do want them to get all grounds etc...tightened. I have had multiple phone calls from them and my dealer. All this is well and good but like you I will be making a payment, my second, and unable to utilize the vehicle. My faith tells me to be patient so I am trying to "keep the faith!" I'll be back to you next week.

RVAH-13. So far the local Ram service department has been good to deal with. Sucks that it takes about a week to get a repair part. Hope they nailed the faulty fuel injector diagnosis on my truck. I will definitely keep you apprised of the progress. I will also keep your loose wiring grounds and 5v wiring system issues on my list of possible causes if fuel injector replacement is not the cure. This forum is a great resource. All around really love the looks and interior of my new Ram Rebel. It’s what caused me to jump from GMC 6.2L Sierra Denalis (I had purchased 5 new over the past 13 years and 6.2 is an incredible engine) over to Ram. Hope they get our issues resolved and that we can gain confidence in the build quality and reliability of our new Ram trucks.
