To replace the black rails that you have with Silver Rails to be able to use the Gator you'll need part#'s 68027048AD & 68027049AD. It's a pretty quick and straight forward swap.
Was just going to go looking for you to see if you sold them. I see them online but they don't come with any hardware it seems so I have no idea what else I would need to buy like if I need weatherstripping (black rails has a seal behind it).The issue here is you have Black Rails, 99.9% of tonneau covers only will work with Silver Rails. Unfortunately Gator just calls them "Standard Rails" in their description as the majority of Ram Box trucks do have the Silver Rails instead of the black one.
This is what the Silver Rails look like:

I also see a part number called DTRAILKIT which has both and appears to be cheaper then buying both sides separately. To replace the black rails that you have with Silver Rails to be able to use the Gator you'll need part#'s 68027048AD & 68027049AD. It's a pretty quick and straight forward swap.
^^This. There are two versions of utility rails. If you get the factory bed cover, it comes with the black rails which sit higher on the bed sides. There are very few bed covers which will work with these rails. You just need to swap to the silver rails. I was already aware of this issue when I bought my truck (thanks to this forum), and was able to negotiate replacement rails as part of the sale. Another thing to note is that the MFT doesn't make any difference if you have a rambox. There is not extra bracing required, like there is in the non-rambox beds. The issue here is you have Black Rails, 99.9% of tonneau covers only will work with Silver Rails. There is a different version for the "new body style" that slides on your bed rail . Here is the supplimental instruction for this version. https://bakindustries.com/images/2019_Ram_Box_Rail_Install_Supplement_318B0028_10.1.18.pdfHow did you install it to the rails? Can you take a picture?
I looked at the instructions and nothing in the instructions manual matches my 2022 ram limited with ramboxes and mft
That will not fit my truck. There is a different version for the "new body style" that slides on your bed rail . Here is the supplimental instruction for this version. https://bakindustries.com/images/2019_Ram_Box_Rail_Install_Supplement_318B0028_10.1.18.pdf
Thanks for the pictures. Your truck came with different rails then mine, so that would not fit mine
See comments above, the factory installed rails on my truck are black so I need to buy new rails I am unable to install of the listed covers so far without replacing existing factory installed hardwareThe Extang cover has a rail that fits in the existing factory installed rail (silver) with the bed utility group. This is what is on my 22 Limited https://extang.com/xceed/2022/ram/1500
Don't be like me. LOL.Well, I'm glad you posted this because I take delivery of mine (limited night edition with factory cover and no silver rails) soon and I wanted the Bakflip. Now I know what I must purchase before it gets here. lol
Hopefully once you get new rails and your Gatortrax on you'll love it so much you'll forget about the ordealDon't be like me. LOL.
Could you send me the link to whatever weatherstipping you used?I swapped the black rails with the silver rails and installed my retrax with no issues. I also installed some foam weatherstripping in the gap between the tailgate and bed.
If you're talking about for the rails, the silver rails came with push pins.Could you send me the link to whatever weatherstipping you used?
Did you need to buy new push clips?
Make sure to check you can order it.Well, I'm glad you posted this because I take delivery of mine (limited night edition with factory cover and no silver rails) soon and I wanted the Bakflip. Now I know what I must purchase before it gets here. lol
Lucky the 10th anniversary package doesn't force the soft cover on you.I just took delivery of a Limited with Rambox and the MFT without the factory tonneau cover. I had the Bed Utillity Group via the 10th anniversary package. My cargo rails are silver not black. I installed a BAK Revolver X4S hard rollup cover. Fit perfectly and installed in about 45-50 minutes. MFT works seemlessly with cover open or closed. If you want to see how it mounts to the bed rails, I can upload more pictures tomorrow.
Right on brackets? You just need to swap to silver rails that 99% of the covers require that’s it. Well that and probably go ahead and get a pair of the right on brackets. It’s annoying but not the end of the world just gonna take a little more cash.
