I got in my 19' Limited yesterday and it was 80 degrees outside. What's crazy is my temperature reading on the Uconnect display was 106 degrees! It seems to be reading the interior temperature and not the outside ambient temperature. I say that because the temperature comes down with the AC on. Weird. Yesterday was just an example of what I'm experiencing. It seems its always 25 to 30 degrees off. Any ideas?

Same problem, was accurate until temps reached 80’s, now anywhere from 10-15 degrees higher than actual. Understand sensor is under driver side mirror. There is a related thread which goes in more detail. Not sure what it will do this summer when actual temps in my area exceed 100. Question is whether it affects auto a/c controls or I’d that only based on interior sensors?

Yeah...I'm sure it's not related to the interior AC then if the sensor is on the mirror. My truck faces the west in the afternoon so maybe the sun is hitting the mirror just right. As I drive the temperature comes down. Maybe the chrome mirror just gets super hot in the direct sun.

Any vehicle I've owned always shows hot when it's been sitting in the sun. Once you start driving around for a minute it should normalize.

I've been discussing this same thing on a different thread. The other day when the truck was in direct sun for an extended period, it read some 12-14 degrees warmer than ambient even after a 45-minute drive home. Yesterday with variable clouds it read about 10F off when I first stepped in, but was reading nearly dead on after the usual 3-5 minutes of settling time. I'm now starting to pay closer attention to where I park and the weather conditions to see if it is related to direct exposure to a strong sun. Perhaps the mirror housing warms up and the greenhouse effect stays longer than usual? I will say the last few mornings (no sunlight exposure) I've not had this issue, so it is a likely explanation.

Are you thinking you'd like to get an official inspection, timmbos? If you decide to head into the dealer, don't hesitate to let me know. I can escalate your inquiry to a case specialist and further document this on your behalf.

Went ice fishing with buddies the end of January in Northern Minnesota. One of our days, the air temp was -40 degrees Fahrenheit. We had a Honda Ridgeline, Ford F-150, and my truck. Their trucks were reading the outside temp accurately, and mine wouldn't go below -26. Brought it to the dealer for an oil change after, and explained the problem I had. They said they tested the temperature gauge and couldn't replicate any issues. On a positive note, besides the temperature gauge, my truck worked perfectly in the extreme cold.
