Any Issues with Tazer DT 18.2.6 Firmware and 2023 Ram 1500 Big Horn Night Edition?

I know that the InMoNav on UConnect 5 has issues. I emailed TAZER and they said they are having issues on UC5 and look for the next firmware as they are working on it. Other than that no issues.

I have UConnect 5. Good to know this info, thanks. Maybe this latest run of CEL and DTC codes is because I enabled InMoNav recently, so maybe I'll disable InMoNav and leave the rest of my selected functions enabled.

Got a follow-up reply from Z Automotive re: the U103C-00 code.



Not sure what "also related" means, but it sounds like having the TazerDT and a kill switch both ("also related"?) may trigger the CEL and throw the U103C-00 code.

One thing I have to say about Z Automotive: they are giving good communication with support and aren't making excuses or dismissing my questions. They are owning up to the fact the CEL will be triggered and DTC codes will be thrown with the TazerDT and it's expected.

They always seem to be helpful.

Guess what I'm doing today...

...I just finished pulling the TazerDT out of my truck.

Z Automotive said to ignore the CEL and DTC codes and that I'll drive myself crazy chasing down the DTC codes that the TazerDT will keep throwing, and it's just expected.

Yeah, but... what if I have a real DTC code that needs immediate attention?

So out it comes and going up for sale. Maybe someone else likes the features more than the DTC codes and from what I've read it's the 2022+ and UConnect5 that seem to have issues with the TazerDT the most.

Ya that is what I have heard 2022 and newer (bummer) works good in my 2021

that is why I also didn't install it yet. on the bigger Tazer DT topic, I also see many issues since the MY 2022 (or actually since it became Uconnect 5) and many options that gets offered from the TazerDT no longer works. It also been a while since they released a new firmware update. Actually was waiting on that so it becomes less and less error free.

I realize that most people use it without issues probably, and only the people with issues come on the forum but still. It would also drive me crazy if I see an error message and you have to guess it is a real one or a temporary one from the Tazer.

I want to use it for the
navigation in motion
auto mirror fold (although I got used to this already that I press the button exiting or entering my truck)
camera comes on by turn signal (but this is one that doesn't work)
auto hold the brake pedal (unsure if that works)
and finally that it shows the front camera when the front parking sensors switch on (unsure if that works either)

for this few things we maybe risk warranty or ECU errors.

Yep it looks like it dosn't work well with the Uconnect 5 . I have had great luck with it but my truck has Uconnect 4 . I only use some stuff and they are all live settings so I don't marry it. Pin code, amber DRL's, the strobe for 3rd brake light LED. I used the auto fold mirror's but when we went back to Denver I had the passenger mirror froze up and stopped using it. lol

23 uconnect 5, I have brake hold which works fine, 3 ding disabled, remember mode which keeps the truck from turning off at stops if that the way I set it. Turn camera and parking camera works, some times get stuck on but better since I disabled nav in motion since I use AA this is ok.

That is good to know maybe they have got some of the bug's out. I heard they had trouble when the Uconnect 5 first came out. Yep I don't use a lot of stuff so I don't marry mine just use the live settings.

Great to find out it's working good on your 2023 I love it and it works great on my 2021 Limited.

Those things I would do as well. And maybe disabling one option improves the other option. The more options we probably enable, the more buggy it can get.

Btw I thought the marrying process was necessary but good to know it isn't.

The only time it has to be married is to change settings like tire size in the non run menu. You can just plug it in and use the live menu (run) most of the stuff I want is in the live menu anyway.
