Peragon Retractable Truck-Bed Cover
Reviewing Peragon’s retractable truck-bed cover on a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado.
My neighbor bought one and he loves it and it will, most likely, be my next cover on my next tuck. You can get one for around $900. 100X better than any folding type cover on the market IMPO.Eh... probably overpriced like a lot of them. Good find for someone I'm sure though.
Nice cover.![]()

I was thinking the same thingthey talk about how they don't like their previous cover when it's open, but then don't include a picture of when this cover is open? weird.
Eh...I like my quad fold cover ....$699 and I have full bed access. Plus I think the folding ones are a little more sturdy, stronger and more secure...or so I've been led to believe lolMy neighbor bought one and he loves it and it will, most likely, be my next cover on my next tuck. Because there isn't a SINGLE cover on the market that can claim they are 100% waterproof. I have no issues with that statement at all since we all know they're telling the truthPlus any advertising for a cover that starts out with the words "no cover is really waterproof" has to give you some concern.
Very true, even mine let's in a couple ounces of water.Because there isn't a SINGLE cover on the market that can claim they are 100% waterproof. I have no issues with that statement at all since we all know they're telling the truth![]()
You only open with a statement like that if you've had complaints and it's bad. My Gator Trax is for all practical purposes waterproof. Just a 6" wet spot by each rear corner which some weather striping at that corner will solve as it did on my '15. I expect the Retrax is the same.Because there isn't a SINGLE cover on the market that can claim they are 100% waterproof. You only open with a statement like that if it's bad??? Are you for real? This is actually an excellent product...please forgive them if they are trying to honest in their statements unlike many other manufacturers. People sometimes have unrealistic expectations and truly believe they can keep their bed 100% water tight. We're not talking about the Retrax anyway...we're talking about the Peragon. I am on my second Retrax with my 19 Ram and I LOVE them...they do allow a small amount of water to come in around the tailgate, but they all do and that's the point...they all do!You only open with a statement like that if you've had complaints and it's bad. Aren't you the pessimist. I have trust in humanity and appreciate a company's honesty. Plus, I have first hand knowledge and experience with it.Just curious, how do you know that they are trying to be honest and not just setting expectations for their product?
I have not purchased a bed cover yet, as I'm still trying to wrap my brain around all options should I want to add bike racks. I really don't want to spend1400 on a retrax with the T-Slot and then need to purchase a full rack with T Slot mounts, then bike mounts. My factory tri-fold does fine and seems like it’ll hold up for a good while. I don’t plan to get rid of it.
But I really liked the Access roll-up cover (from Agri-Cover) that spent 15 years on my previous truck. I had to replace the Velcro once, but it was only beginning to show wear after all that time (mostly outside). And the roll-up design gave me a small “pad” at the front of the truck bed when stowed to protect cargo and backlite. Also, no worries about dings in it (or my current cover) from dropped tree branches or hail.
You have first hand knowledge and experience with it? Please help me understand if you own it or the Retrax in your signature as I’ve been looking at both. We have one Retrax on one of the family Rams and it has been flawless from day one but they can be a little pricey.Aren't you the pessimist. Just as another data point, I'm on my 6th year with a GatorTrax with the polycarbonate top here in New Hampshire. It looks and works like new and can be had for just over $1100You have first hand knowledge and experience with it? No, only if you lock it.Do you need to use a key every time you want to open/close the GatorTrax/Retrax?
