One thing he (or any other current Ram owner, for that matter) would have going for him if he decides to sell it, is that there will be no "new" v8 Rams for sale. Everyone has their opinion, but if I had to get a replacement for my current truck, it would be nothing other than a v8. That interest will translate to the used market, and I know a number of guys who won't buy brand new, but would be quite interested in a low-mile "4 year old truck".Being that we're on the edge of 2024, if he sells the truck in 2 years, it's a 4 year old truck! As Darksteel165 mentioned, his 20k miles per year will help with a 4 year old truck only having 40k miles.
The reason to consider resale has everything to do with our economy and market. Intentions might be to keep it, but if there are issues or lifestyle events that warrant selling, you'd want to get the most out of it. You will get considerably less on a 4 year old vehicle than you will on a 2 year old vehicle, in most cases excluding the past 2 years. As we start normalizing on inventory and prices, I think you'll see this to be the case in two years.
Congrats! So I pulled the trigger yesterday and bought it. Wife was with me and she approved. I did look at KBB value of the truck and the dealership was right on point for value equals sales price. I will miss the ram boxes, but my first ram from way back in 1994 didn’t have them and I did fine. I rarely tow as my boat is on a lift, I do get lumber and such. But I am mainly driving 3 hour trip 2 to 3 times a week for dr appointments. This seemed perfect for my needs . Btw I did look at some 2023 Laramie with ram boxes which y’all know are heavily discounted right. But this 2022 was even cheaper. I even called mark dodge. They had nothing on the lot to meet what I was looking for.
The ecodiesel doesn’t wpscare me as I believe by now most kinks are worked out. Heck I owned an old Oldsmobile with the converted gas to diesel back in the 80’s Now that was apiece of xxxx. Here is a pic More to come
