The cheap adapters don't connect to all modules. Mine does. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's garbage. Well maybe now it does?

Yes, it should be. Some trims don't have amber lighting to use that way. The TRX is the only one that allows for the upper and bottom to be amber.
