Alert tailgate open

Is the dealership able to turn it on just for the light to come on. I carry a large wooden crate with chains in and I've had it open and don't realize and then drive down the high with it down. I have a 21 Laramie so it should have it just disabled from what i understand from what others have said.

No, the dealership can not turn it on. You can do it with alfaobd or JScan.
All 2019-2021 trucks just need alfaobd or JScan to enable the warning.
All 2022-2024 trucks that came from the factory without the warning need alfaobd or JScan to enable it, AND need the correct passenger tailgate latch and tailgate wiring installed.

Jimmy07, thank you for This info

I'm also among those who would like to have the warning light (without sound) on a 2022. I'll try asking the dealer.

But then the light that will be on, will be the same of the doors, .... right?
