I'm curious as to what box ppl are using for single sub applications. The foxbox looks awesome, but I really only need 1 10", and would love to still access storage under the single rear seat. I've looked at a ton of shallow boxes, but none will fit the specs with the underseat storage. Is everything a custom job? Nothing out there to order that doesn't take away all the storage under the rear seats?
If you have reclining seats, you can stick a sub behind the back seats

Not on the Rebels...at least not on mine. There's some threads around about having to remove the entire seat to get to the space behind there.

What size box did you fit back there? I'm assuming the space is the same in the Laramies and the Rebels?
heres the write up, has everything i did.
I have the reclining seats and i had to move them 2 notches to get the seat to latch in the back,
If you dont have them you probably just need to make the box either a shorter or skinnier.

Looks good. I like the base knob in the seat frame idea, never seen that.

After week 3 I sent an email. They never replied and a week later I sent another email without a reply. Think shortly after, I saw it was in transit. Looks like I got everything, but the grills that go over the speaker seem on the short side. Crappy customer service, but decent box. I got the forward firing 2x 10" subs - sealed. I installed threaded inserts (ezlok #8-32 flanged and #8-32 / 3/4" screws) One side I spent a little extra time just drilling for the depth needed, the other side I just drilled all the way through. I installed the speakers with straight banana plug posts for my 2 JL Audio 10W1V3-4ohm speakers. I don't feel like pulling the speakers back off, but if I had to do it again, I'd get an angled or 90 degree banana-plug for the speaker connection. I'll probably install the crill tomorrow using wood screws. They seem too close to the edge to put in threaded inserts.

I'm just posting this on here in case people are trying to get ideas or see if something works.

I built this over the weekend. The goal was to for 2 10" subs under the back seat an make it fit within the factory storage system. This was so I could retain access to bins and not modify the all weather mats. The only subs I could find to make this work are the JL 10TW1. This box has a volume of about 0.69cf +/-. It's stuffed with poly. The amp is a Pioneer GM D8701 (400w/ch at 1ohm).

It's works great. Only thing I'd say it lacks is the real low end stuff (<30hz). It doesn't quite rumble like a 12+ set up would or a set up with more space. But nonetheless it fits my needs and goals and really brings this HK system alive.
If you don’t mind me asking what are the dimensions for the box you built? I’m trying to build a box but can’t decide on a design yet that doesn’t take up the compartment storage and cover the all weather mats. What is the mounting depth that you had after you were finished building your box?

Hey Guys,

Check out my ram- I had my local shop and tech Anthony install a slash 600 with a lc2i- we just finished sound deadening all of the doors - and the rear back wall is next along with the floor board.

Here’s mine I just got it finished. I used the factory sub and tied it in to jbl amp I wanted to keep the under seat storage I went with the jbl 600vxi with the 300 amp for the sub I also replaced the factory six speakers with focal 165’s. I have the 8.4 with the touch screen I was going to put the dsr1 with the idatalink and exceleron but they came back and said since I didn’t have the stock alpine system or Harmon Kardon they aren’t compatible with the 6 speaker system but these are the installed pictures they also put it the Bluetooth link for tuning and a hardwire as well

longshot since this was from about a year ago lol. did you order the stock sub yourself? I have the 6 speaker system, hoping to do that so I keep my storage space..if so where did you order the sub mount from?

I’m debating between a stock sub(and switch out the speaker for it), or if I have room for it possibly putting an enclosure behind the seat where the stock one goes. Not sure if there is a mount on that back wall for the stock one, I have to pull the back seats out and go from there

I have the stock sub I pulled from mine if you are going that route.

Someone should consider adding some fiberglass to this...
View attachment 30951

that’s sort of what I did. The box I built does stick out over the floor mats but I put in a temporary spacer so that the box appears to float over the floor mats. The RF P3 12’s I already had so I ended up with a taller box. Made my own spacers and had to fabricate new brackets for the back seat reclining function. Mounted the RF 1000BSD amp and cap behind the single seat on the drivers side. Still working on wiring everything up. Question, how is everyone tapping into the 3-voice coil of the existing alpine sub?? I have the ANC adapter but I still want to tap into the sub so the audio controls still adjust the bass properly.

FYI, MTI acoustics has a 20% sale going through the weekend. Someone posted that in another thread. The single sub half box would be about $300. I
