aFe Cold Air Intakes

They are making some pretty big claims on their website. I’m wondering how true they are or if they are backed by actual Dyno or something. For those of you that have installed them does it feel like another 30hp?
It’s with a tune you get that

@Mdegen93 The intake you have bolts up to lower factory intake box? Top half sealed by the hood? Curious, that’s how described on website.

so gotta ask ….. what's the difference with the stock unit ? bigger filter ?

Varram and the Mopar unit get air from a different location.

I like both those air intake systems you mentioned. And even now the afe magnum as it’s not just a open intake system. Think all of them will make gains.
I’m curious on mopar “ram air/hood air” as I have the sport hood.
For filtering surface area I would say the afe magnum or vanaram would be largest with stock super close. Mopar and afe momentum will be fully sealed filter surface will be smaller.

I do still feel that in all stock system is very efficient and large surface area. I’d be curious what their airflow test with high flow drop in filter and charcoal filter removed would be at. When you check out their drop in filter it says 85% more airflow yet doesn’t show cfm compared charts or Dyno results. Hummm just my 2cents

Which AFE is better, the Momentum GT Pro Dry S or the Momentum GT Pro 5R? Any concerns about the oil filter and the MAF sensor?

@jkratze1 no concerns with oil as we don’t have MAFs. Just your preference. Dry no oiling after cleaning . While the 5(oiled) does show to flow a little better.

A much much bigger filter and the intake pipe inner diameter is larger with more laminar flow.

Yeah exactly like that

How’s that Pulsar? Any Surging?

I’m planning 35s but I have the 3.21. Curious to see if the Pulsar helps with better planting of the power? Def leaning towards a AFE CAI as well. Just to help turn bigger tires

If anything you can hear when the truck tries to turn the mds on and the pulsar shuts it off with my exhaust but I don’t feel any surge

Has anyone made an intake that will fit a 5.7 etorque?
I called Vararam yesterday since there site has updated to include the 2019 Ram and they told me yes the Vararam will work with 2019 Ram with etorque. I'm still waiting on pricing for the Ram Airflow but this is an option according to Vararam.

Installed mine this morning, very happy with it. Feels a little peppier especially in the mid range, and sounds absolutely incredible when you’re under full load. Worth every penny. Also a breeze to install, very high quality and well thought out kit.

Nails,

I’ll see if I can see up under there and see how well it seals when the hood is dropped. The factory lower intake runner is still in place beneath the AFE box
