Just asking for your guys opinions . My 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel (44,000miles )was brought in for service because the service ABS breaks light came on . AWD adaptive cruise control. Won’t work . Problem is that I brought the truck in on December 13 and was told the ABS MODULE was on back order . It’s now Jan 27th and I’m still waiting for this part to come in . They gave me a Toyota Prius to drive around in but this is absolutely ridiculous .i started a case with stelantis and they said there doing the best they can to find the ABS MODUALE . Now there saying it won’t be until the middle of February !! 🤬😤Im
Close to ****ing snapping but I’m trying to stay calm . Has anyone else had this problem and what should I do .

I’m surprised I can’t find anyone else who has the same problem .

This is not what I wanted to hear..... My dashboard just went nuts and they say it's the ABS....

I’m sorry to hear that . Please keep me posted on what they say . 🙏

I'm being told the warranty will only pay for a week of the rental and to come get my truck until they find the part. At 1 point after stopping to turn left, it wouldn't start going again for a good 20 seconds. That doesn't seem like the safest recommendation.... along with delays shifting among other things.....

We all know there's a current massive recall on abs for 1500s and maybe other models, but that is just reprogramming. The module replacement is not part of the recall.

This is crazy . The MDS module is no were to be found in the country . I’m still waiting it . Stelantis has really dropped the ball on this one . 🤦‍♂️ absolute nightmare .

Ouch.. this is bad. My ram was part of the recall, and all it was a flash firmware update.

After that, I notice a couple of things with the parking sensors. They beep a little more, but they don't apply brakes anymore like they used to. Maybe its more sensitive to speed but a a slow craw (1-2mpg) i could run into something and it doesn't slam on the brakes like before.

Is there a single solitary part on the 5th gen trucks that isn’t on backorder? My brand new Tungsten came with a blown door speaker. Dealer says the speaker is on indefinite backorder. Seriously, one buys a > $90k truck, it comes from the factory with a bad speaker (it rattles like hell at 1/4 volume, so much for the high end Klipsch sound system that I’m certain added $2k to the price I paid for the truck) and Ram can’t fix it?

That’s straight up BS.

Just a thought. Did you check the options/setting for it in uconnect to see if it was changed with the reprogramming?

I just got an email from Ram telling me that now we are looking at MiD march for the ABS MODULE to arrive . I’m gonna ****ing snap ! First it was mid feb now march !?? I dropped my Ram off in Dec 13 2024 !! I’m gonna try and contact a lawyer or something . This is insane ! I’m not buying anything from this company anymore. I was about to invest in a new grand Cherokee summit for my wife as well but this whole ordeal has left a very foul feeling in my gut !!

I think the OP said that the module was bad. Don’t know if flashing it broke the module or the module was just broke all together.

For us, if the module is good, a flash works fine.

yeah we're looking at actual hardware failure, not the recall. They are two separate issues.

So your display is reading service ABS MODULE. You brought it in and the service station told you they recommended you come and get your truck until the module comes onto stock ? Because your warranty won’t cover a loaner for more than a week ? That’s strange considering I had my loaner from Sansone since Dec.23 2025 . I Do have the Chrysler warranties max care extended plan . Not sure if that has anything to do with it . Either way Ram or your dealership should give you a loaner to drive . But you would had to leave your truck at dealership . I would imagine . I’m Curious because I drove my Rebel around with the Service ABS LIGHT ON for about 2 days and it drove fine . It just told me the 4X4 high / adaptive, cruise control, and collision warning wouldn’t work. I really want to go to the dealership and give back my loaner and take my truck home and just drive it until the module comes in because now I have to wait a whole other month at least and I’m losing my mind. Do you mind if I ask what year your Ram 1500 is ?

You can either wait until new ones become available, or you can get a used one off car-part right now, and use JScan or alfaobd to initialize it on your truck.
Thank you . I never imagined something
Like this happening . I’m completely helpless . The ABS MODULE is no where to be found . My $ 75,000 truck is sitting in a car lot rotting away .
