After reading a bunch of threads online I was worried I'd made a mistake, but the A/C in this truck will freeze you out of the cab. Even on the 90F + days with high humidity I still will have to cut it back. Seats get pretty cold too.

I will say the logic in the climate control system is ****, just like the Navigation. I'm constantly chasing the temp, where as my previous trucks were basically set it at XXF temp and forget it till the seasons change.

Everybody on here owns, or has owned, other vehicles and we all
Know how AC is supposed to work/feel. The argument that it’s a big cabin, big windows, black interior, etc. does not hold water. The AC in my truck does not compare to the AC in any other vehicle that I have ever owned. Period.

100% correct. I was drinking the kool aid for a while, however I've been driving the family's extra car (2012 Kia Sorento 4 cylinder with 108K) as it's been sitting since February gathering rust. It's an eye opener at how fast and how cold the Kia gets, with a black interior and larger interior volume than the Ram

2020Laramie No pano or moon roof and mine works great here in SoCal. I had issues with my last vehicle Grand Cherokee but it had a pano roof that I rarely used unless it was morning and cloudy or need a little more light.

If only life were that simple we would have one great a/c system that satisfies the demands of any vehicle. The truth is cabin size, window surface area, pano roof minus roof insulation, etc all play a large roll in vehicle a/c performance as does the offsetting a/c system design effort.

Otherwise I agree with you. Our a/c system doesn't compare favorably to any of my current or previously owned vehicles.

I was driving home the other day, and I started worrying when my truck started feeling hot inside—despite me turning down the temp to 67. For a split-second, this forum got me thinking, "Oh, no! My A/C is going bad!"

Then I realized that I had accidentally turned "Auto" off. I hit the button, heard the blower surge, and was getting chilly soon afterwards. Turned the temp back up to 71 (on a 95-degree evening). No worries here :)

It might be more acceptable if this was the first year this truck was ever made. However many of us had previous gen4 (and older for some) trucks that the AC was so much better.

The 2019 classic has the older gen4 AC system which is why you don't hear any of those owners complaining.

So obviously Ram changed things on the gen5 and did not get it correct in regards to how cold the previous gen products worked.

Bingo! It used to irk me when new truck owners would talk about the AC having to work soooooo hard because of how “BIG” the cabin is and how many windows (?) the truck has, every single truck I’ve owned for the last 12 years was as big or bigger than this truck, those arguments are nonsense unless your used to driving a Prius.

you are correct. I posted a while back about how me and another buddy bought 5 th gen new body styles and another buddy bought a 5th gen classic. We all work together and one day in 95 deg temps we went out and checked all 3 trucks AC and my buddies classic blew colder than both of our 5th gens and my 5 th gen even had the hack in place, temps checked by thermometer.

You might be losing it if you're a half ton pickup forum enthusiast and you think others just jumped off the turnip truck. Some on here owned pickups, drove pickups, were pickup forums members/enthusiasts, did design work for auto manufacturers back when some of you were still in diapers.

I hope the brain power of this a/c pitty party isn't getting to be a lost cause.

Exactly. It doesn't offload FCA's neglect or responsibility to fix it. That has been my argument all along but some on here are so defensive they can't see the forest from the trees.

Well you might have noticed that truck owners happen to be passionate people. :ROFLMAO:

And there is something to be said for trucks that MSRP for $70K plus having inadequate AC performance.

And the damn truck is just so amazing it sucks to be hampered with something so obviously wrong...and should be easy to fix.

Thanks for reminding me to vote now that I have my truck.
These photos are on the day i drove it home. It was hot and petty humid too (but not raining or anything). My truck has the large sun roof. This was at highway speeds. It was 93F out, truck Climate Control in Auto at 68F. Blowing 50-51F and comfortable in the cab at 75F. Since driving with my wife in it a few times she usually asked me to turn the AC down (she is too cold). I always say “you mean up” and get the look.
