I’m not going to go into a long rant but I also couldn’t just sit here and not say something about how poor and disappointing my 2019 Ram experience has been. Today marks 8 weeks my truck has been sitting at the dealer for numerous repairs. I think 8 weeks speaks for itself and I am going to leave it at that instead of a long post of complaining.

At 8 weeks, I'm assuming you should be able to file for arbitration / lemon law (I'm not sure what state you are in). Have you started to process?

Mines close to my 30 days out of service (NY). Currently driveable but waiting on a new steering rack the dealer ordered yesterday.

That's brutal, sorry you're having such a bad experience. Hopefully it gets repaired and you have a long trouble free future ahead.

Still have to ask what is still broken on your truck? What parts, if any are you waiting on? Have you only used one dealership for repairs? Are there any others near you. Too much trouble to go back through all your posts. If you don’t want to respond that’s okay.

Eeeck!! Please try another dealer if possible if you haven't already. What are the repairs your truck is in for?

I would like an update on what is going on. Today that is, not next week. Called my case manager today and I was told she is no longer my case manager and I should’ve heard something from who is managing it now. Dealer says they are waiting on parts that are available but they have not been released to them now for almost two weeks.

Ok so during this 2 month period they have replaced the steering rack due to the steering sticking during left turns at highway speeds once the truck has been driven for a while. On a side note, a long one, those that are still going through this you need to find a way for them to acknowledge it exists. I fought it for months and finally the regional manager approved the steering rack being replaced because he said he had seen it before. I even had video of it doing it. The problem is if you ever get to the point of meeting lemon law on these issues the response is going to be a no since the dealer never actually replicated it. At least that’s all I have received so far. Same goes for the vibration around 60 MPH even though it was demonstrated during my arbitration test drive and the shop foreman and FCA rep even held and conversation about what they thought it might be. But that test drive wasn’t a service visit where I had paperwork stating it was replicated. This is garbage on the steering since it’s not that it can’t be replicated, it’s that both FCA and the dealer aren’t willing to take the actual time required to replicate it. And I was told they wouldn’t accept video by my case manager. Kind of ridiculous on something that is a safety issue. All that resulted on the vibration was a road force balance. So since this is the third balance i’m sure it probably still exists if I ever get my truck back.

Some of the other items during this visit are replacing the back glass do to significant water leak. This is the second water leak on this truck. The dash was replaced due to the leather being messed up on the driver side. There was a clicking on the brake pedal that was greased and went away and then the gas pedal became really squeaky. During the repair of that, the whole pedal assembly was broken and had to be completely replaced. The doors required alignment and I’m not sure if that has been done yet. The ramboxes were far off from the body lines of the rest of the bed of the truck. They started by just ordering the outer appliqués. They required painting and were painted the wrong color. I’m guessing regular black instead of the pearl black. Once those were re-ordered and installed, they said it didn’t fix the problem and from the Star case they were told to replace the whole rambox. Those were ordered and dealer says they are available but that they can’t get them released to them now for almost 2 weeks. There are more smaller issues as well that I won’t get into as this post is long enough and this doesn’t include everything from the 6-8 previous service visits on this truck and some that I am probably forgetting at this point.

The worst part is that if anyone was willing initially to take care of some of these problems it probably would have never escalated to this point. Even more surprising is these problems have nothing to do with all the new technology. All of that has been pretty much fine. It is the basics of building a car and quality control that has plagued this one. So here I am on my third loaner, moving to my 4th case manager still trying to get answers.

Again, sorry for the long post.

Hi,
I had the rack replaced in mine at around 2200miles. Same issue - Sticking while turning left at speeds above 45mph once warmed up. The dealer was very good about it and repalced the rack - problem solved. However, since the rack was replaced, there has been some steering vibration at highway speeds. They re balanced the tires and that made it a lot better, but i still get some very slight steering vibe around 70 - 80mph intermittently. I find it very strange that before the rack was replaced the steering was super smooth at all speeds, so I am not sure why the tires required re balancing. I know that they had to do an alignment after the rack was replaced and I'm wondering if something is off. I noticed that by looking at the front of the truck, it is visible that there is some toe out....I believe it should be toe in if any. I did measure the toe and it is out by 1/16 of an inch across the tires. I didnt think a slight toe out would cause steering vibration though......thoughts?
