6,000-7,000 miles MPG Info Sharing

I don’t know what to say about mine, with 3.92’s no etorque, I get about 16-17 no matter what I do with the cruise set at 60 all the way up to 73. Doesn’t seem to matter the speed, I just get 16-17.

In the last 9 years I’ve owned a 2011 F-150 3.5 eco, a 2014 Silverado LTZ 5.3, 2016 Ram Eco diesel, and a 2018 F-150 platinum 3.5 eco. I love my new limited, but it gets BY FAR the worst mileage of any of the above trucks with similar gears on the same roads.

I'm in the same boat. It is very disappointing. And forget getting eco mode to come on at any speed over 50. I just can't understand how a vehicle with 3.92's, 8spd transmission and mds can't get over 17mpg at 70-75mph.

And I've found towing smaller weights with the tow mode off, gets better mileage. I tow a Polaris RZR, and a Yamaha Raptor sport quad on a 14' open trailer and got 11-12 mpg in tow mode and 14 ish with it off, same speeds

When towing though, I have the cruise set at 73 for those numbers. I'm guessing load is around #3000

I just filled up today and hand calculated 17.4 over 460 miles of driving mostly around town. Computer said 17.8. Pretty hard to argue with those numbers, I’m impressed.

I just realized that I wasn’t calculating for the 3% difference between the stock tires and the 33” Falkens I have so with that said my average actually jumps up to 17.9mpg making the lieometer pretty damn close.

I just finished up Month #2 of ownership and have just over 7.5K miles on my RAM. I have a 75 mile round trip to work via the highway and 50 mile round trip to church via the back roads. I am averaging 21-22 mpg. I cruise the highway's between 60 and 67ish depending upon where I am on the stretch. I have not yet towed anything so I have not experienced the Tow Drop that my 2013 always provided.

Anyway I am very pleased with my gas mileage thus far as my 2013 averaged 19ish with the same driving routine and 15/16mpg the very second I attached my trailer to it.

Yea, they like gas...here's what I got yesterday on trip towing my same 7x12 single axle aluminum with just my lawn mower tractor in it.

I'd say I can expect around 12-13 when towing my SxS...

I get between 8.5 and 9.5 pulling my NEO 22+V, 7', enclosed. Heading out for a 2,500 round trip at end of month with SxS and two HD dressers-will be tracking both West and East bound trips. I'll be anticipating averaging 9 MPG.

This pic is testing SxS all the way forward.

Way too much tounge weight, which drove me to a set of these bags: Air Lift 60828HD 1000 Heavy Duty Coil Spring Kit Rear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L9F32QT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6hvsDbPW91RC0 I had a set on a similar set on my Chevy. They definitely assist in heavy loads, although I will not run SxS all the way forward-always load heavy nearest axles. I use the bags only to level out trailer, never overloading capacity.

This pic just shows length and height and is hooked up to my 2014 1500 Silverado Z71. Trailer weighs ~3,100# empty. SxS weighs ~2,000#

I would not rely solely what is on plate. I weighed mine at local sand pit while hooked to my truck, it came up at 2,800#...so I added ~10%, how reliable is the scale, I don't know...it's a Neo, NASR. I'll snap some pics of the certificate of origin, title, scale print off, and plate...

Here's a pic of plate: it is a 24', not a 22' as I earlier stated.

My title states 2,600#, which I presume was taken off Certificate of Origin.

Just get an open trailer.... That's all you see dragging ATV's around my area. Way easier to clean up after carrying muddy units. Cleaning out an enclosed trailer is a pain plus forever to dry out.

Here’s my Fuelly log since I bought my truck. 6,412 miles tracked and average 15.2 with the best being 18.5, but that was a premium no ethanol tank. Average fuel per mile cost is 0.19.
