4x4 switch dead

Today when I left for work I noticed that the switch that you use to switch from 2WD to 4WD AUTO etc was dead. There were no lights on it at all and pressing it did nothing. What is odd about this is I had this exact same problem in my 2014 Laramie! The dealer could never figure out what the issue was. When I got to work I shut the truck off and restarted it, but it was still dead. If it's anything like my other truck it will be sporadic.

Anybody else experienced this?

Yep. Mine has done this twice (I'm at 2k miles). It's really the only flaw I've found so far on this truck.

Both times I did not use Remote Start (not sure if that matters). Power cycling fully, including lock unlock, did not resolve. It started working the next day. I imagine if I really need to switch to 4x4 and this occurs again I'll have to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery and see if that works.

Hi VectorZ and 2wd,
We regret to hear that you have both experienced. If you choose to have this concern addressed by your dealer, please send us a private message and we would be happy to offer an extra layer of assistance.

My 4x4 switch was like that when I picked up my truck new from the dealer. I didn't notice the switch wasn't lit until i got home. I reached up behind the dash and pushed in the connector that attaches to the back of the switch and the switch lit up. I haven't had a problem since then, approximately 8 months, 7,500 miles.

You didn't have to take anything out/take apart the dash? I gave it a shot and holy hell it's tough to reach back there. The opening is about 8 inches below the switch at a angle, and there's a bunch of other cables, modules in the way it feels.

Couldn't reach it. Any tips other then determination? Will try again tomorrow.

I didn't take anything off from behind the dash. It's a very tight fit but i could wiggle my hand up just far enough to barely touch the back of the connector and push it hard enough for all of the lights to come on. My connector was partially engaged it just need a light push to fully seat it into the switch.

There are other connectors in the way. If i remember right, i laid on my back on the driver side floor to get a better angle with my arm.
