4WD Auto

I mainly use mine for the snow/ice. Never had a need for it in the rain with the limited slip and once I swapped out the stock tires for the Continentals it just hooks up even under hard acceleration in 2wd on wet roads.
Yeah, the stock tires look aggressive, but they really dont have a whole lot of actual grip. This is why I am using the 4A more in the rain, because I still have another 10k on my factory tires. Would like to atleast get my mileage out of them before upgrading.

What tires are you talking about?

I have the LT275/70R18E OWL AT
I don't know what tire that is...
My 22s for example can come as Goodyears and Pirellis.
You can get various different tire brands and models with the same size wheels.
Are the ones you have Perialli ATs? I don't think theirs are LT rated.
 
Since they're OWL they could be Bridgestone Duelers or Falken Wildpeaks. But he added that they are AT so they have to be the Falkens that come with the ORG. The OEM Falkens are pretty decent tires in both the rain and snow.
 
Am I the only one using this feature to launch in the rain with 100% traction? I was extremely skeptical about the quality of it, until I went to Dr. Google and saw some videos and mixed reviews/emotions, and I have to say I am pretty damn impressed with how responsive and how fast it corrects. I literally floor it and it just grabs. Im telling you, with heavy rain and 40+mph winds, this truck is floating like a Cadillac.

Of course all of this was done on a closed track in Mexico..
I do this as well. Use it also when merging onto a road quickly, and on steep hills.
 
Previous gen Tundras obviously never had a 4Auto type of function, yet constantly reported to have Tcase overheating issues. Lack of 4A in itself is no guarantee of durability.

I'm likely in the minority thinking that more frequent use of 4A is good for the case, possibly at the expense of wheel hubs. Mine's in 4A most of the winter, and a decent amount in the dry seasons (why have the power if you can't put it down??!!)

TRX only comes as 4A. If it was that bad, think they would be pushing 700+ hp with it?

People get all funky talking about awd, 4A, 4wd, ect. It's like asking someone if a catch can is good or how often to change your oil.

Good Point. They use the same transfer case, yeah? I read somewhere that the TRX is similar to AWD, but I didn't read enough into to confirm anything about their drivetrain specs. Does the Durango 392 use a real AWD system, then?

TRX is AWD, and uses a different transfer case. TRX uses same transfer case as Track hawk
 
Dats yer problem right ther.
Goodyears are crap tires.

Some people even take the Goodyears off on a brand new truck because they are so poor.
On the plus side you will love getting new tires.
Yeah yeah I know lol. Although it is fun to break TC with 4A 😬 Especially in the mud.

Like a true AWD? So you can go from AWD to 4Auto? New tech for my brain. Gotta love it now a days.

It's not the same transfer case used in other Rams. And has no 4-auto setting

Guess I was wrong in 4-auto. Still not the same tea for case as regular Rams.

I’m confused about the 4-Auto. If a TRX is full time AWD why the Auto?🤔

4HI and 4Lo makes sense as does neutral. Standard 4WD modes.

I’ve had two Tundras and spent more time than I should have on Tundras.com and never heard any complain about T case overheating.
