Hey I just got a letter today from FCA USA saying the warranty for the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) has been extended to 10 years 150k miles. I own a 2019 Laramie. I have a question, I recently replaced the old gasket (because I was getting some water leakage) with one of those auto and marine rubber weather seal gaskets and it still leaks a little. Would me replacing the old gasket with that other one void out the warranty? Thanks.

There's a phone number on there to call and ask. But I would say no, but that's just what I think.

Got the same thing yesterday. I fixed the CHMSL gasket already, and it's stopped leaking so I don't plan on letting them touch it. My back glass hasn't had any issues (knock on wood), so hopefully it's good to go. Seems like most of the issues show themselves early, and I'm at 4 years post production.

After monkeying around with the home depot/lows gaskets, sure, was good for a while.
Ended up ordering the upgraded high mounted stop light.
Think it was around 36 bucks plus shipping. No more leaks from that area.

Got a part number on that updated one?

I have a 2019 2500 that just started leaking. I haven’t gotten the letter yet. Will it be an issue to get this fixed @RamCares?

What the helll is that?
I know what it is but that is not the way to fix the leak.
Back in the day.. Working for VW/Audi Europe, winging it was verboten.
That is winging it at the maximum.

That’s what I said, that was their fix.

Took me me like to hours to clean it up and do a proper job. The warranty is not worth the bits it’s typed on.

What year RAM is that from? I've never seen a CHMSL that looked like that on a RAM.
22.

The rear glass was replaced due to the leak/crack. Dealer said the light was also leaking and that was their fix.

I don’t believe the light was leaking at all, the leak that I had was right where the plastic on the glass had cracked.
