34” or 35” tires Stock Suspension

Hey guys I’m conflicted with going with 34” tires or 35” tires. I have stock Rebel suspension (not air). Can I go with 34” tires or 35” or is 33” largest you can go?

Also what are your opinions of going with 17” wheel with 315/70/17 or 20” rims with 275/65/20? I think I’m leaning more for the big brauny look like on a raptor which has 315/70/17. If you have pics of your truck that would be very helpful as I’m not finding any pics of rebels with upgraded wheels/tires.

Lastly, if I do upgrade tires to 34” or 35” size will I get any errors on the display? Or will my speedometer just be off slightly?

I originally put 34s on mine hated the look and upgraded to the 35s. I was told the 35 will fit a stock truck... mine is lifted now

Tiresize.com will tell you about speedometer errors and gear ratios with different tire sizes

I originally put 34s on mine hated the look and upgraded to the 35s. I was told the 35 will fit a stock truck... mine is lifted now
Having the same debate 34 vs 35, why did you hate the 34 look so much?

I've yet seen 17"s that will clear our brakes, I even measured the brakes and try to figure out how to make a set of 17"s to fit, the brakes on our trucks is huge compare to the DS gen (4th gen), 5th gen 1500 has 378mm/14.9" rotors up front, while 4th gen has 336mm/13.2" rotors up front, the rear is 375mm/14.8" (5th gen) vs 352mm/13.9" (4th gen), when you factor in the calipers, it's pretty much at the limit at most 18" cast wheels inner clearance,, 17" wheels in cast construction is almost impossible to have that much clearance, forged is possible but it'll be very very tight specially for wheel weights.

Keep in mind F150 rotors are 1" smaller.

I have done a lot of research on this myself and it seems very hard to find people with stock suspension and no levels stating if a tire above 33" will work or not without rubbing.

On a side note, are the Rebels and ORG Laramies the same height? I know the ORG adds 1" lift, do the Rebels have a 2"?

I believe the ORG, Rebels and North Editions all come with a 1" lift over standard heights.

Again, you got few questions you have to figure out:
- What wheels will be used? OEM offset is +19mm, most aftermarket 18x9 fits are 0mm or -12mm
- What width? the wider it is, and lower the offset, the more likely you will rub
- What brand of tires? some tires run larger, some run smaller, not all 35s are 35s in true diameter.

With a 2" level, 35x12.5 K02 and -12 offset wheels, you will touch that tiny mudflap thingy towards the back of the car at full lock, I've also seen someone local had 285/75/18 installed, that's a 35" but 11.3" wide, no leveling and he just graze the mudflap thing on a Laramie with no lift.

Mopar themselve sells the 2" lift kit and also 18" beadlock wheels with 35s as a package from dealers, those I believe they recommend 11.5" width for minimal trimming.

Agree that there are some variables. If I look at the BFG KO2s, I think the stock 18" wheel is only 8" wide therefore the tallest tire that we can fit with those wheels is the 275/70R18 at 33.2" and 11" wide. If we get aftermarket 18" wheels that are 9" wide, the options open up to 305/65R18 (33.5" tall, 12.2" wide), 325/65R18 (34.6" tall, 13" wide), 34X12.50R18 (33.5", 12.5" wide ), 35X12.50R18 (34.5" tall, 12.5" wide). K02 doesn't have 35"s in narrower width, I wish they had 11.5" wide, 275/70 will fit for sure, that's stock Rebel size, the 12" and wider may touch the small mud flaps, but those are easy to remove/trim, check the offset on the wheels too, I like to use this website ( https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator ) as reference, you can then take a simple ruler, measure how far it'll stick out, even when it's at full lock to see if it'll rub or not.

I'm sticking with Duratrac but going to 285/75r18, which is a 35" but 11.2" wide and only 6lbs heavier than stock size tires.

295/70/18 tires, stock Rebel wheels, 2” spacers, stock ride height - needed to take off small mud flap and cut off metal bracket that held it on. Still rubbed (slightly) on liner at full wheel Lock.

Same scenario above with 2.5” level on front - no rubbing at all with ~1” of clearance.

I have a question.

i have a ram rebel with a daystar level kit and stock wheels and i want bigger tires.
BFG KO2 35/12.5/18 tires are for 8.5” wheel and our stock wheels are 8”.

noob question ,is that a big deal, will they fit with minor trimming? Or is it over kill?

Do you think it was your 2 spacers at stock height that caused the rubbing. I'm also looking at 295/70/18 on stock Rebel wheels, but on a Limited with air suspension.

To be honest, spacers could have been part of the issue but I never ran my setup without them.

If I had to guess, I’d say the Removal of the spacers would probably eliminate the rubbing. The rubbing was very slight so a smaller turning radius would help.

I just posted in the wheel and tire section today that you can put 295/70/18 on stock Rebel wheels with no rubbing on an air suspension with no level or lift. The Cooper AT3 XLT's are designed to work on a rim width of 7-10. The Rebel is 8 wide, so you should be fine. Hope that helps!

On a Rebel 34.5 & 12 Wide Will Clear without rubbing or modding, 12.5 will rub the small mud flap.
