I have nothing to add to this topic but I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Hank Hill reference here?!?

I really feel like the KO2 was ideal in that size. It’s a D rated tire vs the E on the Toyo and Nitto. Decent all around performer and great highway ride.Once I find a tire shop that will put the 295/50r22's on my stock 22" rims I'll post here on the fit and ride. It definitely seems to be the ideal "non-lifted" fit for the combo of adding more sidewall and a smidgen of width. Now, to choose: BFG KO2, Toyo OC ATIII or the Nitro Ridge Grappler.....
Hey there MVFan... how did the 295/50r22 on stock rims go? Any comments on fit or pics?Once I find a tire shop that will put the 295/50r22's on my stock 22" rims I'll post here on the fit and ride. The manufacturer put on what got them by regulations. The 285/45’s help with mpg, all the other crap helps them pass govt exhaust regs. It’s more about the bean counters bottom line than performance or utility.Stick with what the manufacturer designed and engineered to be ideal for the truck.
Here are the 285/55’s. On a non leveled truck I think the 295/50’s would be perfect. If you are level/lifting it the 285/55 looks great imho. I got alot more sidewall and extra height without any fit hassle. The 285/55 would likely also fit a non leveled truck but they might rub in entry/exit mode. The wheels looked super tight when lowered to that. This picture is in aero mode. I have zero complaints on the Toyo’s btw. Ride character is almost exactly the same as stock. To describe the difference I will say in a straight line it’s the same. Turning, the front end isn’t as responsive but that’s to be expected with the larger heavier tire. However it’s still great. I went from a sports sedan to a luxury sedan in terms of handling if that makes any sense.
I dunno. I don’t look to compare. Currently I get 15 mpg average. Much better on highwayLooking for the same exact set up! What was your MPG hit?
How is the ride quality with your setup of the Bilstein 5100s and the 285/55/22 wheel and tire combo? What made you go with the 1" rear spacers?I also have a night edition Laramie non air suspension, I'm really happy with the look of 285/55/22. No rub with Bilstein 5100's set at 1.7" above stock in the front along with 1" spacers in the rear.View attachment 174912
I was worried it would be bad going to an E rated tire, it's not. I had 285/45/22 falkens on it before and with the larger sidewall now it rides better than that set up. Not quite as good as the stock Goodyear "all season" tires though. I put on the rear spacers because without them even though it measured a 1/4" rake it looked ever so slightly nose high. How is the ride quality with your setup of the Bilstein 5100s and the 285/55/22 wheel and tire combo? I see that the 285/55/22 is about 5 mph off at 70 mph. Did you have your speedometer calibrated?I was worried it would be bad going to an E rated tire, it's not. Yes, utilized a tazer. I got it just for that but use some of the other functions like disabling auto start/stop and programmed a steering wheel button to pull up my surround view camera. Some people reported issues with their back up sensors not working when programming it to a larger size, no issues with my 2020.I see that the 285/55/22 is about 5 mph off at 70 mph. I definitely like the way your truck stance is with your setup but wanted to confirm that you do not have the ORP on your Laramie, right? I just had a shop tell me that the 285/55/22 would not fit on my 2024 Laramie (non air suspension, non ORP) without severe rubbing even with the level. I guess I will have to look for another shop with more experience.Yes, utilized a tazer. I greatly appreciate your help and willingness to answer my questions.
Thank you, I'm really happy with it. Correct, no ORP. You definitely can fit them, I expected at least some rubbing based on others on this forum. I even bought a heat gun in advance expecting to use it to get rid of any rubbing but didn't have to use it at all. Should fit I have 33x12.50R22 on stock rims but have air suspensionHi guys, just picked up a 2024 Laramie Night Edition, non-air suspension, and want to change out my tires to something more aggressive. I want to keep at least the same or higher load rating for towing. I want aggressive, but i do a good amount of distance driving so not something that will be crap on pavement.
I want to keep the 22in wheels, can I move to a 33in tire with them on a stock truck with no spacers or leveling?
I am looking at Mickey Thompson Bahaha Boss AT 305/45/22, would those fit the stock 22 rims? Any other tire recommendations?

Toyota open country at3What tire is that?
What hit did that take to your MPGs? It looks great btw!I went with 33x12.5r22 Ridge Ridge Grapper on stock suspension, had to do very minimal plastic trimming![]()
