I went 285/55/22 ridge graps and I’m taking them off this week for 33x12.5 4 ply terra graps. 285/55 is 34.5 looks awesome but totally compromised power and I feel every bump. I don’t do hard core off road so trying to get as close to stock with a somewhat aggressive AT tire. Nitto makes 4 ply in 305/45/22 which is a little over 33 inch. Those go on next week

Forgot to mention that 35 only run ar full lock in reverse just a tad.

Any affect on MPG?

I took a 3-4 mpg hit with this size. Putting on 33 in passenger load lighter terra grappler since I drive in the city a lot. Was getting crushed - maybe 9 mpg in seattle driving

Interested to hear about your disappointment with the ride. I’m considering the G2 mostly because most others claim the nitto ATs ride at least as nice as stock.

The 10 ply and heaviness of the 285/55/22 was just brutal compared to stock. Looks great but paid too much for this truck for it not to ride perfect for me. I’ll let you know how the g2 4 ply ride when I get them next week

I drive a lot of city so I felt it more than people who put more highway miles on.

Bums me out to hear that.. I have the same thought about preserving the ride. The 285/55 seemed the perfect size for the look I want but I’ve only found it in the AT. The 33s still look too low profile for me on the 22s. I may have to consider staying with 20s.

Yeah I’m on the fence too. I’ll put them on Ana see how they look and ride. If I don’t like it, I’m going to 20s.

I like the look. Do you have a pic directly from the side? And one from the back?

Out of curiosity, what tire pressure were you running the 285/55s? Most people posting that they've put LT/10 ply Nittos on indicate the ride is better than the stock tires they replaced (even on other truck sites), but I know a few have posted they were running regular pressures (35-40), and not the high load pressures (60-80psi) that the 10ply tires can take (which would degrade the ride quality considerably). I don't have direct experience myself and I'm considering the 285/55R22 Terra Grapplers myself, and was pretty secure in the choice (based on other people saying they road better) until I read this, lol.

Also out of curiosity, did you calibrate the computer for the change in tire size?

How are the new tires working out?
