305/55/20 Ridge Grapplers XL

I just got my Ridge Grapplers installed today...got them at 285/50/20 XL. I wanted them just a little wider so i risked it and went with the 285's, and there is no rubbing inside the wheel well. These tires are on STOCK SUSPENSION, and I also have 2 inch spacers installed. Here are some pics....Cars dirty but i had to.

Wow, what a difference the spacers make! How is the ride with the XL rated vs the stock Duelers? You probably have the same amount of sidewall. I’m debating on XL vs E and Ridge vs Terra G2.

How are you liking the 305/55/20 so far? I have 285/55/22 ridge grapplers e rated and not a fan. Swapping for 305/45/22 terra grapplers xl 4 ply. I expect a much better ride but not sure if I’ll like the look. Going 20s with 305/55 if these don’t work.
Did you ever make this switch to the XL? I’m wondering if it’s that much of an improvement over E rated to be stuck with limited sizes? Also saves about $100 per tire!

No additional pics. I’m kind of torn, I love the looks but was expecting the ride to be better since not being a E rated tire. I’ve aired them down to 33psi (Nitto said 32 would be equal to stock tires at 36) I find I just feel much more of the road imperfections and much stiffer. They roll smooth but bouncy is best way to describe. I’m not sure if E would not ride better aired down more. With that said I notice very little affect on acceleration and braking that is one positive with the XL weight. I’m wondering if the narrower 275/60 would ride better and if the width is the culprit. I’m also considering Terra G2 in a 275/65 and 275/60 in both ridge and G2, all XL non E, discount tire said I have a month to decide which is freaking awesome service IMO.
I’m trying to make this decision now. Looking at 20” after markets and debating on Terra vs Ridge and E vs XL. I’d like to keep a lower profile and wondering if sticking with an XL rated will offset the lack of sidewall. The Terra G2 has a mileage warranty and wondering also if they will last longer than the Ridge.

Any update? Also throw a third tire into the mix Toyo open country AT3....

truck looks great man. what's the verdict? any report on MPG yet?

Just ordered the 305/55r20 ridge grapplers for my stock rims. The older posts in this thread are incorrect, the 305/55r20 tires are not xl rated. The 305/50r20 are the xl rated tires the difference being the xl tires are rated for about 330lbs more load per tire at 50psi the 305/55r20 tires are only rated for 44psi. Will post pics on wednesday when I put them on.

XL or SL Does not matter. Either one works fine with the trucks gross vehicle weight rating. The point is that they are P305/55/20 and substantially less physical weight than the LT tires.

I understand, just thought I’d clear it up for anyone reading this thread in the future. People looking for the best ride would want to go with the standard load tires. And the earlier posts might have confused some people.

following . i would like to get tires this weekend , would a 305 50 r20 fit with stock laramie suspension and no spacers or any other modifications ? cheers !

These are the 305/55r20 tires not xl rated. It has a 2" front level and a 1" rear lift.

how much do they stick out ? how do you like them ?

They don’t stick out at all, they are perfectly flush with the body. From the front they look absolutely killer with the lower bumper trim removed. As far as noise, my friend has the BFF ko2’s and those are much louder than my ridge grapplers (mine only have 2,500 miles so time will tell)

i have KO2`s on my wrangler jl and they are not bad at all , i really want to know if theres any touching with 305 50s on stock rim/suspension so i can go ahead and order them ...

guys with 305s (and no spacers or different offsets from factory) , can you post some pictures from different angles so we see how much they come out in the fender ? Cheers !

Here is my 2021 Ram 1500 stock air ride suspension with 20x9 +2 offset fuel wheels and nitto recon grapplers (305/55R20). No spacers no rubbing.
