285/45/22 (oem) vs 275/50/22 on 22 stock rims, Limited

The .5” narrower will likely look odd on the stock rim. Depending on gearing, the bigger tire will have some effect on mpg.

I chose to stay with the stock 285 although I went taller as I have 3.92 gears.

295/55r22Amp Pro Terrain. I chose them due to them being 6+pounds lighter per tire than others that size, and they are not mid terrains.

Correction, I made a typo. The size is 285/55r22 and no rubbing or trimming to the liners. I do have to say, my truck,by vin, does not have ORG, but I feel it sets higher than stock. For reference, I measure 39” to front flare and 40” to rear in normal ride height.

How much of a MGP hit did you take?

I can attest an EcoDiesel with a stock wheel/tire combo and 3:21 gears will consistently generate 28+mpg over 700miles (long haul tank). This EcoDiesel has 3:92 gearing and with the 34.3” tire combo, so far, will generate 24-26mpg combined highway/city driving. Current tank of fuel is at 22.5mpg over 350 miles of all city driving.
