I take delivery of my 23 Laramie Night Edition (non air ride) on Monday 7/31 with 22s and the GY Touring Eagles
I want to replace them ASAP with something "bigger" without lift/leveling and minimal to no rubbing.
Hours of reading threads here I can't seem to come to a conclusion on the best size.
Does anyone have the experience to share a comparison between the following 3 sizes?
275/50/22
305/45/22
33/12.5/22

I live just outside of Philadelphia and will be doing mostly highway and city driving with 2 kids. So looking for safety and longevity.
Here is what i am considering:

1. Michelin Defender LTX M/S (275/50)
2. Toyo Open Country AT III (305/45)

Any insights or experience sharing would be greatly appreciated.

Just installed new terrain contacts A/T on my ram limited 275 50 22 they ride beautiful and quieter than my old bfgoodrich advantage T/A’s stock size. Got a 1/2 more sidewall with continentals and I notice a smoother ride, absorbs bumps better not that the old ones were bad but the continentals are better. Was worried about highway noise since 95% of my driving is on highway doing 70-90mph less vibrations too at 80mpg which I had vibration with old tires which Is normal when tires wear, it’s smooth like if it was driven off the dealer again. I did consider the toyo at3 for looks but for my needs these are perfect and still have mild agressive look. I’m happy.

When changing tire sizes, are we maintaining the original tire diameter? If the diameter is being changed, does anyone give consideration to computer/speedo calibration? Can the Ram electronics be calibrated "at will", or is an external programmer necessary? Does anyone care if speedo is as much as 5 mph "off", especially when being tailed by a cop?

Alfa obd to adjust speedometer.

I went to a 305x45r22 and at highway speeds my speedometer was showing 2-3mph slower than what I was actually doing.

I got my 33’s a couple years ago. Finally updated my size today using jscan (I have an iPhone). The dealer will charge a couple hundred bucks.

Usually when going a bigger tire, the speedo will be faster then actually doing, so that 5 mph with a cop won't matter and maybe even save you. :ROFLMAO:

It’s the other way. The speedo will read lower than your actual speed. For instance with my tires, it was about 2 mph off at 60.
