Hey all! I traded in my ram limited for a 2025 Ram 1500 Laramie with the towing technology group, laramie equipment group 2, and advanced safety group 2. I really love the truck but am very frustrated with the locking of the truck and feel like I am doing something wrong. My prior truck I could lock from the outside with handle, this truck doesnt have that. When I get out of the truck and his the lock button, close the door, and walk away the truck beeps three times at me and unlocks. I have looked through all the setting on the truck and could not for the life of me figure this out. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? This is totally bumming me out with my brand new vehicle!

Does your phone live in your briefcase as well?

(Meaning you could use it to lock truck)

Are you sure you can't lock it from the handle? My 2021 Laramie had a little button to press to lock on the handle. When I got my 2026 Laramie, I didn't see the button, so I figured I couldn't lock it from the handle until I saw the little square shaped depression in the front of the driver's door handle. As soon as I put my finger on the little depressed square spot, the doors locked and I was happy once again. You can see the little square depression on the right side of this handle.

Huh, I always wondered what that strange design feature was, now I'll have to get my boots on and pop outside to try it....

This is why it always pays to look at the manual.....just about every vehicle made today has either a button or a capacitive switch that will both lock and unlock the vehicle with the fob within range.

WHAT?! Thats rediculous. So I cant lock the truck then close the door? So there is no way for me to lock the truck unless I take the key out?
That was incorrect information posted above.
On ALL 2019-2024 5th gen Ram 1500’s, you are able to have the fob in your pocket, shut the truck off while you’re inside, open the door, press the lock button on the inside driver door master lock switch, exit the truck, close the door, and it will stay locked. Maybe people are misunderstanding your issue.
That is the way I prefer to do it also, rather than shut the door and press the passive entry lock button on the outside door handle, and have been doing that for years. This behavior also works correctly on my 2025 big horn that is NOT equipped with passive entry.
If yours is unlocking the doors after you shut the door, there is a programming issue, or some kind of passive entry antenna issue.
