Howdy all, I have a Laramie lvl2 with the HK sound system. I had my sub replaced under warranty because I blew it in the first couple months of ownership. I was curious if it was possible to replicate the back passenger side set up with an additional HK sub mounted on the back driver side?

I’ve had ‘13 Laramie which had the alpine and ran a aftermarket system, similarly the same with my ‘22 Ram. With all of the new ANC stuff and storage purposes, I didn’t know what the possibility was to mount the same HK sub on the driver side and tap the wires from the original sub to power it. Just a thought, it could be a stupid one. I know the mounting of it won’t line up or work properly, but that’s easy to rig.

Just dump it and go aftermarket

I posted that because it's behind the seat which is what he was looking for, plus plug n play. There are many options out there.

you are correct MANY options. NET is nice stuff but kind of pricey IMO.
i did a full install but the stock alpine or hk is more than adequate for over 95% of people and actually sounds real good.

See I personally think the stock Alpine or HK sucks. I've swapped over my last Alpine systems every time and might do the same with this HK. Especially the subwoofer is pathetic. Highs are flat sounding as many others agree and change out as well. I already have the 2-12's Fox Acoustic box to eventually install. I'm trying not to swap high until afterwards. My Grand Cherokee Alpine system sucked as well. Like everything else, everyone has their own liking for sound.

Net Audio is good and I think sorta high as well, but many buy their products.

yeah the factory lacked good highs and it just didn't get loud enough for me without distorting.
i did the fox 2-10's box, rockford dsp, audiocontrol 1.1500 and a 4.800 jl 6x9's in the rear doors and kenwood 6x9 component's up front. like you i'm in the 5% of people that wanted more than factory.

So far I have the Box, JL Audio HD900/5, PAC AmpPro, then contemplating JL Audio 12W3 or The new Audio Control Subs. If I go highs I've been looking at Audio Control speakers also. I ran Infinity previously.

W3's are awesome sounding as you can guess i feel like they are over priced LOL i almost purchased a set of audiocontrol spike 10's this weekend i really want to give them a try. i have a set of RF P3'S now and they are only 5 months old.

Yes, they are definitely overpriced!! That's why the AC Spikes caught my attention, plus come with the grills for protection and mounting hardware.

that's it you did it!!! i just ordered a set from crutchfield they will be here Thursday. 😁

Good to know. Just ordered the Kickers for the dash corners.
nice did you get the one's with the rubber surround or the foam that foam will take a beating from the sun on the dash.
i was recommending the pioneers they come with a "6db bass blocker" to block out 850 and down. for some reason everyone seem's to go for the kickers.
i have set of the pioneers they are work good with the stock amp but i threw around a 100 watts at them.

Those Pioneers are on back order at crutchfield.ca. The Kickers were too until a few days ago. Not sure if they’re foam or rubber.
And the bass blockers are 600hz?
May have to get them included in the order.

the crossover is 850htz the good thing is if you want to change them out Crutchfield makes it easy at least in the states it is.
the only rubber-Kicker KSC350.

initial thoughts the rockford P3's sounded really good vs the spikes but i have been rocking fosgate's for 28 years so i am biased.
the new china RF's need more air space than the old USA made.
the spikes play low notes better, AC's are rated 20-250htz while the RF'S are 27-250htz and believe it or not you can tell.
not bad at all but not what i accustomed to in the other areas. i assume they will improve as they loosen up/break in they are pretty stiff.
the fox box air space little small for the RF's but just right for the AC's.
i removed the amp covers to do some fine tuning. i'm little ashamed of how messy my carpet is. i'll run the vac this weekend

What I've always known about RF is they're more for rock bass then low end, but I've never used them. Looks good!! Yeah once they break in, should only get better.
