2025 Ram 1500 hardwiring dash cam

yeah makes sense.
for me dash cam are just cheap replaceable items and it makes no sense for me to keep it and move between vehicles. I am OCD and I tuck all the wires, and I run front AND rear cams so it really doesn't make sense for me to undo all that just to move to a different car. Besides, chinese electronics are not made to last anyways especially when exposed to the extreme heat in the summer and extreme cold in the winter. also dash cam technology do get updated with newer higher resolution etc.

2-3 year would be a good time to upgrade/ renew. they're cheap enough anyways a few hundred bucks.
Your right about that. I usually don't keep cars for more then 3 years as well.

Does anyone know what fuse location to use when hard wiring a dash camera in a 2025 Ram 1500. My previous 21 Ram 1500 i was able to use fuse location F66 under the dash. But in the 25 they redesigned the fuse box.
I just need a 10 amp location to turn on camera once vehicle is started.
Sorry for revving the old thread, did you end up using the internal fuse box under the steering wheel? I took a look at mine and it seems difficult to get to being behind a metal plate (that isn't pictured in the owners manual). Just curious to know if it was a pain in the *** or not.

Just gigvbing a quick bump, has anyone found a diagram or where the fuse is in the 2025?

Mine just wires into the OBD2 port, doesn't get any easier lol.

No wiring diagram yet but I did a video on my FitcamX install on my 2025 Limited. At 6:19 in the video is where I cover how I picked the fuses and which one's I used.

Nice job! I installed a Viofo a month or so ago. I didn't remove the metal plate like you did, but I wish I did. I will note that while there doesn't seem to be any fuse maps yet, the cavities are labeled on the fuse block. You can then cross-reference this to the fuse list in the owners manual. It's not as convenient as working with a map, but this can help you avoid circuits you might rather not use.
One challenge is being able to see the cavity labels. I ended up using my phone camera to help. The next challenge is to find a fuse that will allow the tap to fit. I was eventually able to ring out two 10A fuses that worked. For the "Batt" I used animation lighting fuse (F11), and for "ACC" I used the wireless charging pad fuse (F24).

That video was EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you, bshleton8!

Thank you for taking the time to post the video! I am going to order one of these as well. I am not as concerned about having the parking option. If I just order the basic version I am assuming I only need to plug in the 2 wires in the housing area for power and rear cam, correct?

Thanks, I may get one, I'm falling off the fence.
A quick aside, what's the round mount like thing next to the screen??
