So, decided to pursue the dash speaker upgrade. Bought speakers and harness adapters, only to find: The 2025MY is a 4 wire plug, not 2 wires, as all earlier models have. Well, damn. Don't know if I want to separate the 2nd set of wires and tie them into the harness or await the aftermarket to catch up with the new architecture.

4 wires. so the tweeter and mid are on separate channels. somehow i don't think what you are doing will be a upgrade. that factory amp has alot going on. crossovers, time alignment and gain setting for the speakers they put in it. those factory speakers are a good match for the amp.
IMO change the amp and all speakers + subwoofer or change nothing. i would just leave it alone

Hey brother l, did you ever attempt to switch out the dash speakers? I'm tired of the muffled sounds as well?

I put it on hold for the moment. The 25 HK dash speakers use a 4 wire feed for the 2 way speaker. All the speakers I've researched are 2 way but with a 2 wire feed. So, I either await a 4 wire feed speaker or separate the 4 wires on a 2 way speaker to feed the 4 wire Ram harness.

maybe i am asking this on the wrong post but i have the Harmon system in my 2020 a couple months back i changed all 3 of the dash speakers, big improvement. yesterday i changed out the all 4 door woofers front 2 door tweeters to kicker's. not sure if it why but now i am getting a code in the amp saying the circuit is open for the door tweeters only. they seem to be working as they should but i didn't notice as much of a improvement as doing the dash speakers. i tried clearing the codes and they came back immediately and still haven't been able to get them to clear.

I read where a guy was adding a resister to the new speakers because of the 2 to 4 ohms thing.

Resisters worked perfectly. Now I’m getting cabin mismatch. But that’s been coming up since I installed the uc5 radio.

So i just finished doing dash corner speakers.
Question is. Can i purchase just one speaker for the center? Alpine system.

maybe a off brand from parts express. i did away with it. i think the rear headliner and center only come on when you use surround sound.
i replaced EVERYTHING except for the 12in so i dumped the center and the headliner speakers.

Ah okay, that kinda crossed my mind after i posted the question.

I like em. I like em a lot.
just having a actual tweeter makes every speaker sound better. believe it or not it even makes the subwoofer sound better. it's a long explanation but short answer it increases the dynamic range.

Absolutely! Before i had the fader on the back speakers. Now with the better sounding Kickers i can have it centred.
Are those speakers even Alpine? Why even say its a Alpine system if they’re just generic sounding speakers? I’d pay $500 more for actual brand name speakers.
The 3.5’s dropped in simple enough. But i’m seeing the door speakers take a bit of finagling to fit properly.
The Kickers i put in looked like they already had resisters installed on em.
I dont know anything about car audio though. I’m a musician. I can go on all day about Marshall amps and Les Pauls. Car audio. Nope.
My ears are still ringing from the Metallica/Pantera concert. I think any 2 way speaker is going to sound better than the stock ones.
Looking into door speakers now. May just go with the same brand.

Look - it's all gonna be subjective..... You really need to start out with:

1. Budget - how much are you willing to spend to get the sound you're after?
2. Are you tackling this project yourself, or having it done for you? Sometimes professional installation is the way to go if you're not adept at installs. This also gives you a guarantee on how things get installed.
3. Low End, Mid priced, or High End parts/accessories?
4. Sound proofing?
I could go on but maybe this will give you an idea. Here's my current system on a budget of about $2,500 to $3,000

toejam loves to put that diagram up lol.......just bussn balls man
i have 30 years in car audio and sometimes less is more. i know it's a matter of taste. i have done alot of systems with 1-12 that put 2-10's to shame. my typical set up was 1-12 and a good set of component's preferably 6.5's no rear speakers at all.
the ship has sailed now i'm running 2 AC SPIKE 10's after trying 3 other sets in my fox box jl 6x9's in back doors and they do add to the sound, kfcx3's that came with the kenwood 6x9 component set. sounds great to me and everyone that i have demoed it for.
in hindsight i should have gone with the my normal 1-12 in the fox box and a rf p3 12. it would have been less money, taken up less room needed a smaller amp and had equal or better sub bass. but i had a few set's of 10's laying around so i went with them. i'm going to stick with the audiocontrol 10's at 58 years old i suspect they will be my last.

Just to give those contemplating a system upgrade something to look at if they want to go for a higher end system. There's people I've seen put near 10k into a system.
a visual representation is the best way to get your point across.
if i knew how to draw my system out like you did on the computer i would. maybe i can give you a list and you can do one for me?

I’ve got close to 10K in my system with another 5K in different/additional equipment sitting in my closet for a future upgrade. All Hertz currently except for the JL Audio DSP.
