2022 Orders

Yeah that’s what they told me last week. I’d love to believe it. But I just can’t reconcile it with all of the reports of 2021 orders being told that their trucks are being built that week.
I still don't understand what the real differences are from a production line standpoint other than Uconnect 5 and some different interiors. It's all plug and play. It's like like model year is semantics at this point

As long as I can get a few months with my new truck before it gets covered in salt, I'll be OK with a later build date. After all, I'm still driving a practically new truck now.

I think it's basically that they have to have a hard stop on the 2021 model year, regroup/retool/restock on the changes for 2022 builds and then start up the 2022 production.

I've been trying to find good info on interiors but I can't seem to find anything not related to the 10th Anniversary Edition. I hope to eventually order a Laramie this fall so I can receive it after road salt season. Are there any new interior combos coming for the Laramie? I don't mind black but I like to change things up and the Mountain Brown has too much brown on the dash for me.

Looking on NADA, it looks like it's the same as last year

Did your dealer remove this before you completed your order or did you pay your deposit then they told you it couldn't be ordered? Just hoping they don't remove options after deposit is paid and VIN has been assigned.
This happened today, I ordered 2 weeks ago and paid a deposit. So the order was already submitted to Ram then they took away the Technology Group. As said before, I can understand removing the option from new orders temporarily but the shortage must be real bad to take an option away from a sold order Limited.

Did they call to let you know or did you ask them? I'm wondering if I need to check mine but I hate harassing them!

I'm wondering if they will take groups from all trim levels or only certain ones. I ordered a 2022 Rebel on 7/28 and haven't received a vin. I'm hoping I get everything I ordered.

You had an assigned vin number before they took away the tech group, right? How did you learn they modified your order?

It will be interesting to see which sold orders start to lose options (hopefully very few). I emailed my sales person yesterday and my order was still in D status but no changes had been made to the order. I ordered on July 9 and had the VIN July 19. The 19th is when I asked for the VIN and they gave it to me....not sure if it was actually created a day or two earlier.

I'm afraid to lose the Tech Package (want the mirror and stitched dash on the Bighorn) and the blind spot monitoring. Reason I went to Bighorn is that I couldn't get BSM on Laramie but could add it to Bighorn. Then the Tech package gave me the stitched dash which was a bonus.

Maybe we can start to highlight names of those who have their sold order modified. Or, maybe it doesn't matter because it is what it is :)

It is really bad...I work for a supplier in the ADAS market and it's non stop talk it. In fact, we've been told by some of our suppliers that we'll be lucky to see 80% of our chip demand in 2022 total.

As long as they gave you your VON, Jeep Chat can give you your VIN once it's assigned, that will indicate you're in "D"

Daily update for the new additions (@dsbull, @chexp77w, @Prex01, @GNight22, @Wlgtv). I turned @RDSnj2021 purple to mark that his order was modified. If anyone else's order was modified AFTER a VIN was assigned, let me know.

@Eighty I had added tech group to my order after receiving the vin, the rep said he would input the request but couldn't promise anything. Still haven't gotten a confirmation that it went through though.

I'm wondering the same thing. No mention of it on the UAW 1700 facebook page (and they've always listed shutdowns there). I suspect we'll know something by tomorrow morning, because the TRX guys will report on how many were produced today.
Looks like SHAP is working this week. The TRX guys reported 9 new build sheets this morning. And a new trick I just heard of: If you look up Stellantis Sterling Heights Assembly Plant on Google Maps, it will give you a "live" update on how busy it is. And it definitely shows that there are people at the plant. So the rumors appear to be false that the plant is shut down this week.

My sales rep called and emailed me to say the tech group is no longer available. I ordered via phone late July 19th and put a deposit down. 7-22 I asked if they were able to get the truck ordered and he said yes.

I don't personally have my VIN yet, but I figure my order almost certainly has a VIN assigned by now. Yesterday my rep told me they'll have the VIN when the truck is being made and the order to delivery process will be half done then. I don't know why I can't get my VIN when most orders get it right away.

I hope there wasn't a dealer or factory issue that prevented my order from being submitted right after I ordered it (7-19). Something like a computer or human error. Is it possible the dealer was at their limit for July vehicles and had to wait until August to really submit the order to Ram?

Who knows, the truck could show up as ordered in a few months. Now I'm half hoping for a later build date to give the parts supply time to catch up. How the tides have turned!

@Eighty can you add me to the spreadsheet as a wildcard in the corner maybe? Then we can keep record of changed orders.

Anyone else not have luck getting a reply from Aaron? Sent him an email last week and no response. I had a question on if for 2022 blind spot is standard on Longhorn (like on Limited)?
