2022 Orders

2022 1500 Laramie, Crew, 6’ 4” ORG
VIN: 1C6SRFRT0NN156300
Ordered 8/8/21

Only regret with my order was that the bench seat is not available with any of the appearance packages. which forces me to the Tan headliner.

FWIW, your VIN appears to have been assigned on 8/18 (10 days later than you placed your order). Can you confirm the "order date" that shows up on your POC?

It's probably a good time to explain this, for the benefit of everyone who has joined recently.

On the left side of the chart, I'm showing all of the users who have submitted their VINs. It shows the timeline of orders (VINs are assigned sequentially as they're taken). So we can see how many orders are being entered in the system as a function of time. VINs start at 100,000 (and are currently up to ~72,000). Stellantis does not publish this data, so we are crowd-sourcing it.

On the right side of the chart is an idealistic timeline of production, and it's based on several idealistic assumptions:
  • Production will start 9/13 (hopefully this is true)
  • SHAP will produce 6,000 trucks/week (this is based on a rough running average of what they produced on the 2021 run). Their goals are higher than this (more like 7,000/week), plus they're going to 7-day weeks. So I assume they're expecting to produce as much as 8,000+ trucks/week in the near future. But to be conservative, I'm still assuming their historical capacity of 6,000/week.
  • Orders will arrive at dealerships approximately 3-4 weeks from the time they enter production (this is also based on historical averages, as reported by users in the 2021 run).
  • Orders will be produced sequentially by VIN. This is absolutely not going to happen, but there's no other way to project the production. As I've mentioned before, we will see a scatter-graph of trucks being produced up-and-down the range of VINs.
Everything on the right is "fortune telling", and will be updated as reality sets in. The main idea with this chart is to give everyone some sort of expectation as to when they should expect their trucks (based on as much logic/knowledge as I can find).
The thin blue line represents the projected "Build Sheet" date. That is, when your truck enters production.
The thick blue line represents the projected "Arrival" date at your dealer.
So, @GandB21, in your case, with a VIN of 120423, the chart predicts that you would see your truck built around 10/7, with delivery taking place between 10/30-11/6. If you get it earlier than that, you'll be one of the lucky ones.

As production begins, @triple_B will know which build sheets are produced on a daily basis (he has the ability to scan for them, as well as window stickers).

Delivery at dealers is only known by you users. So continuing with the crowd-sourcing concept, I hope that everyone will follow up for the benefit of the group - and let us all know when your truck eventually shows up at your dealer.
Eighty, thanks so much for the details

Still D for me this morning. Ordered on 7/9. He sent me a new POC and my order is still unchanged for the moment. I do wonder though, with Tech Group and Blind Spot on a Big Horn....how far down the line my build may be vs higher trims (based on micro chips).

Sales guy was searching while on the phone with me and he has 3 1500s in D1 right now. One limited (10th anniversary), one Laramie and one Big Horn level 1. They expect to see more hitting D1 this week obviously.

Just quick update from my dealer. I ordered my truck in the middle of August before any announced changes to trim levels. Dealer confirmed that my Limited Level 1 will reflect the new changes that were made, at the new price point
Mine was ordered at the original 2022 prices and before any options and group changes. They said that they will honor the original quoted price which is invoice minus 1,000 at the original 2022 pricing. I am impressed with this dealer so far.

I'm still in D.

My sales rep insists that sold orders are not changed, i.e. If I ordered my truck before they enacted the changes, and got Level 1, my Level 1 would not include the Tech Group.

However, we've all seen several people here state the opposite, so I'm getting the feeling that my sales rep doesn't know what she's talking about. She also again insisted that changes cannot be made to "D" status vehicles.

I honestly think she might be trying to blow me off for some reason, which is really a shame because I had a great day-of-order experience with her. Too much trouble to make changes? Doesn't want to deal with the fallout if the changes aren't acknowledged or accepted in time? I seem to have pushed enough at this point that she's going to get in touch with the GM and get more info.

One addition. The base price did increase by $440 for the Big Horn. My sales guy is checking to see if they eat that or if I do. I'm not too worried either way...I just want my truck.

You are correct ordered 8/18, must have missed the 1. VIN received 8/26

Yeah I just changed my drive line from 3.21 to 3.92 All of two weeks ago and I went D status on 7/30. It 100% can happen and shes tuggin your chain on that. As to the updates for the "streamline" were gonna have to wait for build sheets until there's a clear answer as to how the changes affect our builds, and even then it likely still wont make sense.

I posted this on another thread but will also post it here

just received an email from Mike MacDonald Customer Care & Experience Executive Referrals Manager

First off, Thank you for your RAM 1500 order. I checked with the RAM 1500 brand manager regarding your question on the interior trim choices. He sent me the following response:
**********
Black and Black/Diesel Gray are the two color choices for interiors on Big Horn.
**********

Unfortunately there are no other lighter color trim choices available. Please let me know if you have any additional questions/concerns.

We VALUE you as a customer and THANK YOU for your LOYAL support of Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep / RAM / Alfa Romeo.

This tells me it does not matter what you ordered

you get what they have

Hey, a quick note for everyone who is frantically checking for build sheets on their 2022 orders. I just discovered that one method works earlier than the other.

This one pulls up the build sheet earlier.

This one is delayed.

looks like that FCA community site is just a front end. It spits you out to the same URL, inputting the VIN where the “your vin here” was located.

The domain for the URL it spits you out to is however Jeep rather than Ram. Is that supposed to be the difference that makes it faster?

I think it's slightly less likely that she's tuggin my chain and slightly more likely that she's just ignorant. She's been there 6 years but I don't think she's done all that many custom orders, and it seems like she's done very few or no Ram custom orders.

So I think it's possible that she's just never had anyone ask to change something after D status, and on top of that, is not in the know as to how the combination of the chip/supply shortages and the trim changes are affecting (or not affecting) people's orders.

I'm just glad that she's brining the GM in, hopefully I will get some straight answers, cause that's all I want.

FYI, the sales manager for this particular dealership said the same thing, can't change stuff once it has a VIN. Again, despite the friendliness, and the willingness to make a good deal, I think I ended up at a dealership full of noobs. And I'm a noob (relatively speaking) so this was a recipe for a (1st world) disaster lol

Ah, yes. I remember hearing that point a long time ago...the Jeep site is updated earlier than the Ram site.

So to summarize, you'll get an earlier result if you use this site:

And on a side note, I just heard that THEY ARE BUILDING 2022'S TODAY. We'll start seeing them tomorrow.

I actually heard the same from my sales rep, but if you'll look at my last few comments, I'm not sure if I believe her lol

i just joined Tread Lightly. Now I'm gonna kinda be irritated if somehow my Truck shows up before the 30 day mark....something tells me that's not a likely scenario 🤣
